I picked up the tickets as I walked towards the door.
"Cute outfit, check. Tickets, check. Best friend, I'm on the way." I said as I picked up my car keys. I was becoming shaky as I realized I was actually going to a 5sos concert in less than two hours.
"Fin hurry up." I yelled from the other side of the door.
"I'm trying B, but I have to look perfect." She replied.
"Well it won't matter if we're late." I started to bang on the door, trying to annoy her.
She swung the door open out of breath. "Let's go."
I was about to punch this guard, or ticket man, or whatever you want to call him.
"I'm sorry girls, but all the seats are filled."
"Then two other people have stolen our seats, because we have our tickets right here." I pulled them out of my pocket to show him.
"There's nothing I can do about it now." He was so calm, which annoyed me. How can he be calm when someone stole our seats?
"Well I can." I heard a familiar Australian accent behind me. Finley turned stuttering. "Come with me girls. Let's get your seats back." He took the tickets from my hand as the gate was opened for us. "Nice seats." He said waving the tickets around.
I started walking to the beat of the music they had playing while everyone waited.
"Can you play?" Ash said looking at me.
I realized what I was doing and stopped. I felt my cheeks flare up. "Play what?"
"Drums?" He made motions like he was playing the drums.
"Actually yes." I looked at him with a smile, and he returned it.
"I could tell." He said. Then he looked down the row. "Well here we are." The girls stared at Ashton with wide eyes then screamed. "I'm sorry girls, but these seats aren't your seats. I have the proof." He held up the tickets. The girls looked at each other worriedly.
"Can you just get out of our fucking seats?" Finley talked for the first time since entering the building. The girls immediately jumped up and walked away.
I turned to my friend to give her a high five. Then I looked at Ashton. "Thanks."
"Well I guess I need to get backstage." He almost whispered.
"Yeah. See you later?" I sat down in my seat.
"Definitely." He nodded. Then our gaze was broken as he turned away to climb on the stage, then he disappeared.
"So you know recently we've been letting fans come onstage to play one of our instruments." Calum started. The whole crowd roared at the sound of his voice.
"Well tonight is, the drums, right?" Michael continued. Luke nodded, bringing his mic up now.
"So girls. Who wants to play the drums?" All hands shot up, even Finley's. I didn't raise mine though. I didn't want to play the drums in front of all these people.
Ashton came out from behind his set and scanned the crowd, his eyes scanned over me a few times, but they finally found me. "You." He pointed at me, yet all the hands stayed in the air.
"But I didn't even have my hand raised." I tried to jokingly argue back. He bent down, I could see now he was chewing gum. I started to wonder what kind.
"I don't care." He reached his hand out and pulled me up.
"This is?" Luke stuck his mic in my face.
"I- I'm Blare." I was mentally smacking myself for stuttering.
"Can you play us something Blare?" Calum asked. I nodded.
I walked to the drum set with confidence. Most girls are scared out of their minds because they have not a clue what they're doing, but I've got this. I sat on the padded stool.
"You seem very confident about this?" Michael spoke before I started. I looked for Ashton's mic.
"I know how to play the drums." I had to stand to speak into the mic. I got comfortable again and grabbed the sticks.
"1. 2. 3. 4."
The adrenaline was still pumping through me as we walked out the doors.
"I still can't believe you did that B." Finley fished for the keys, I hope she didn't lose them. That's my brand new car.
We were pulling away when Ashton jumped in front of the car. I slammed on the brakes and we jerked forward then back.
"Is he nuts?" I looked at Finley. I unbuckled myself and got out of the car. "What is wrong with you? I could've hit you." I yelled at him.
"You can't go." He walked towards me.
"And why not?" I crossed my arms acting like I was mad, but I really wasn't.
"Because, I know it sounds crazy, but I think I might be in love with you." He stopped two inches away from me.
"You don't even know me." I argued.
"That's the crazy part, but I know it's you. You're the one Blare." He whispered the last part as he closed the distance between us. Then his lips finally met mine, and we moved so well together. It became deeper and he pushed me against the car, then I remembered Finley. I pulled away.
"Call me." I wrote my number on a piece of paper and handed it to him. "See you later?"
"Definitely." He smiled at me as he walked away.
"And that kids is how I met your father." I said as they all looked at me waiting for more.
"Best day of my life." Ashton said standing in door frame. "Going to get a few things. Wanted to let you know."
"See you later?" I smiled at him.
