I'll start from the minute I met my Nialler. It was in a small coffee shop where I was working at the time. He came in and stole my heart that very second. Many people don't believe in love at first sight and say it can't happen. However, I experienced it first-hand. Love at first sight is true.
Anyways, he came over to me and asked for a cappuccino and a triple chocolate cookie. I chuckled a bit before turning to the coffee machine and emptying the sachet into the cup, before adding the water. I turned back to the counter and picked up the brown paper bag which held the cookie.
"I didn't quite catch your name." I politely said.
"Oh sorry. Niall." he replied.
I carefully scribbled his name onto the red hot cup before handing over his order. I think he noticed the small smile plastered on my face because he gave me a smirk before handing over the money.
"Thank you..." he stared at me, waiting to hear my name.
"Thanks Zayn." And with that, he left the shop and left me wondering whether I would see him again.
I counted his money, sighing when I realised he gave me a little too much. I threw the coins into the cash till and paused as I noticed a small piece of paper. I unfolded it and found a phone number with the words 'call me' written underneath it. He must have written it when I was making his coffee. My smile grew a little wider as I slid it into my pocket. I can't stop thinking about his cute Irish accent and the way he pronounced my name. The butterflies in my stomach made it clear just how nervous this guy made me feel... even when he isn't around!
My shift ended a few hours later and I was still mesmerised by the Niall boy. I made my way outside into my car when I heard footsteps running up to me.
"Zayn, is the shop closed now?" I heard an Irish voice say behind me.
I quickly turned around to see the boy who has been playing on my mind all day, stood right behind me. He look exhausted and his cheeks had a slight pink tint to them from the cold weather.
"Yeah sorry Niall. I've just shut it now. Did you need something?" I asked him.
"Errm, I was just going to get a coffee for my boyfriend before I go pick him up from work. But it doesn't matter, I'll go find another coffee shop. Thanks anyway pal." He said before getting into his car and driving off.
He had a boyfriend. I wasted a few hours of my life thinking of the man only to realise he was in love. With someone else.
I got into my own car and drove off to my house.
Why couldn't I find love?
