I watched her lie there, she was quite asleep and well, she looked beautiful. Putting into words how I feel about her is probably one of the hardest things I can think about doing, I love her so much and the fact that I'm going to have little us running around soon makes my heart explode with happiness.
I got up, got dressed and headed over to Dylan's house where the guys were chilling today, I don't want to leave the kids but I have to leave the house sometimes. Plus I'm not great with kids yet.
"Look who decided to stop fucking and join us" kayden yelled as soon as I walked into the house.
"I mean I can't really say I don't get any because you know" I joked. "But guys, I have a serious conversation to be had" I said, sitting down with them. They paused the game and all turned to me with interest.
"Spit it out boy!" Daniel yelled.
"I want to propose to her" I said quickly.
"Dude" they all breathed out at the same time.
"I love her, and I kinda have kids with her, this seems like the most logical route in my mind because I sure as hell don't want to leave her or the kids and it's going to happen at some point so why wait a million years because it's too soon?" I rambled on.
"That's actually a good point" Daniel shrugged, breaking the silence.
"Who'll be your best man?" Kayden piped up.
"None of you guys" I laughed. Honestly, it'll probably be jack, me and him are a bit close, I like the kid and well he's family. "Jack will probably get it" I told them.
"Jack, jack, jack" Daniel shook his head.
"I couldn't pick one of you guys, it'd be too hard" I smiled at them.
"Of course, you love us" Dylan sniffled, wiping away a fake tear.
"I hate you guys" I laughed.
"Come on, now that we're past all that sappy shit, we play some games, you go ask jack to put a ring on it, then you get a ring, put a ring on it" Daniel said, making a mental list for me.
"You're so dumb" I shook my head, picking up a controller and starting to play.
~later at night~
"Hey jack, can I talk to you?" I asked him, after dinner was finished.
"Yeah sure man" he nodded, as he put the last of his things away. We walked outside to the backyard in silence, sitting down on the deck once we got out there. "So what's up?" He asked me, getting comfortable.
"You know that I'm head over heels in love with your sister right?" I asked him.
"who doesn't, that girl could say eat that dog shit and you'd be like 'yes, anything for you'" he said, laughing his ass off.
"You're such a piece of shit" I laughed, kicking him a bit.
"Thanks" he said sarcastically.
"No problem man" I laughed a bit. "But on a serious note, how would you feel about me and you becoming family?" I asked him.
"Dude, if you're asking to become blood brothers, you're barking up the wrong tree" he shook his head hard.
"Not blood bothers, that's just far fetched" I rolled my eyes. "I mean, legally becoming brother in law" I continued.
"I mean, unless you're marrying my sister, I don't think that's a thing" he told me in a duh tone. I looked at him, hoping that he'd understand I want to ask her to marry me.
"You don't get it do you?" I asked him.
"Don't get what?" He asked me back.
"Oh my god, you dunce, I want to marry your sister because I love her and I never want to leave her or my children's side" I blurted out.
"You want to marry her?" He asked, a bit shocked.
"Yes, I want to marry her" I groaned, this kid though.
"I mean, I like you, I approve" he shrugged. "But just know, if you hurt her, you're more than likely to not see another day" he threatened me.
"You got it" I nodded profusely. "Thanks man" I smiled at him.
"I mean, she's the one that has to say yes to you" he laughed. "Just imagine, you get on one knee and then she turns you down" he stated, laughing till he couldn't breathe.
"Have I mentioned I hate you?" I looked at him with a slight glare.
"Not lately, I love when you say it, turns me on" he said, looking me dead in the eyes.
"You're so gross" I said, we both burst out laughing. "But I gotta go talk to my dad about getting my great grandmas ring off him" I told him, getting up and walking back inside. I went straight to my dads office, he spent quite a bit of time in there but somehow always made time for us.
"Hey kid" my dad greeted me as I walked in.
"Hey dad" I smiled, sitting in the chair in front of his desk.
"What can I do for you?" He asked me, closing up the books he had open in front of him and clasping his hands together.
"I was wondering if I could somehow get great grandmothers ring" I said, after gaining enough courage.
"Great grandmothers engagement ring?" He asked me, a bit taken back by what I had just said.
"Yeah, that ring dad" I nodded confidently.
"What are you doing with it bud?" He asked curious as to what was going on in my head.
"I'm proposing to the mother of my children, what else would I be doing father?" I asked him formally.
"Are you sure about this?" He asked me.
"Of course I am, I love her more than anything on this earth and well, she is the mother to my babies and I wish to never leave their side" I told him matter-o-factly.
"Marriage is a big commitment" he clicked.
"Dad, I know" I nodded. "So is kids and I have two now, those three humans are my first and only concern, them before me, marriage is sacrifice, and I've sacrificed a lot for this girl" I told him sternly.
"The ring is yours" he told me simply. He got up, went to his safe and came back with a small red velvet case. "Open it" he told me, placing it in my hand.
I opened it to reveal a ring, nothing big and blingy but perfect. It was silver with a ruby heart with two small diamonds on each side of it. I imagine seeing this on her finger, watching her excitedly show it off to the world.
"It's perfect" I smiled up at him.
"Think this through son" he told me.
"I will dad, trust me" I nodded. I shut the box, slipped it into my pocket and started heading downstairs. I went straight to the kids room and saw Addie quietly feeding the twins.
"Hey baby" she looked up at me.
"Hello beautiful" I grinned, kissing her. I can't wait till I get to call her my fiancé, my wife, the love of my life.
"How was your day? You were everywhere but no where" she asked me softly.
"It was great, got some things done, more to go though" I told her, I'm so excited.
"I took care of babies all day" she frowned.
"I'll tell you what, sometime soon, I'm sending you, rosa, Ellie, kayliee on a girls day, we'll have a date after, no kids" I told her, kissing her.
"I would love that" she let out a huff if relief.
"I love you, now you go to bed, I'll finish up with the twins" I told her, taking the bottles and sitting in her spot she once occupied. "Good night babe, I'll be there soon" I told her, glancing up at her before staring back at the twins.
"Good night" she said, leaving.
"You guys look so much alike already, probably because you're babies and babies look like potatoes for a while" I told them.
I finished up their bottles, burped them successfully, changed diapers and set them into their cribs. I turned on the babies monitors and the soft white noise machine that Addie said would be good for the kids or something weird like that.
"Good night my loves" I said, kissing both of them before slipping out of the room quietly and into mine.
Addie was already passed out on the bed, snoring the sight definitely made me chuckle a bit. I got undressed and put her underneath the blankets before getting in myself. I grabbed her, pulled her close and whispered softly in her ear that I love her before I passed out.
