It was the first day of school again and I was prepared for the worst. You see ever new school year the most popular guy gathers all his friends to come pick on the least popular girl in the whole school. I currently hold the title of least popular girl. This has been a tradition since kinder-garden, it's called the "Freak Bash." They do this to prove that they'll do whatever they want and no one can stop them.
"Hey, it's the Freak!" That was coming from the most popular guy in the schools friends.
"Go home Freak!" And that was the most popular in school, Jewel.
The most popular boy and girl always end up together, but the odd thing is I don't see the boy. Maybe they voted on a new one this time. You see ever year everyone in the school either votes on someone new or they stick with the same one as the year before. Plus, it doesn't matter what grade their in. The whole school votes on who the want to follow.
'Oh boy, another person to torment me!'
I would never be able to say that a loud. Why are people so cruel?! And like the usual clumsy person I am, I crashed into someone.
"Sorry..." I tried walking away, but when I looked up the boy in front of me was holding out his hand.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. Thank you."
"Hey, who do you think you are touching him?!"
Oh no! I looked at the boy and then the popular kids. Crap! he was the new popular kid! before the others reached me I ran towards the school building. That was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me! The day went by too fast for me. I had to prepare for the physical and mental abuse that I was about to receive.
"Freak," and right on cue the abuse begins.
"Okay, let's just get this over with."
As the girls got closer I noticed a shadow zip past everyone, and before I knew it someone was standing in front of me.
"What are you doing?!" Asked the boy who picked on me this morning.
"Helping a girl who's being picked on for no reason," said the stranger.
"Well there's a good reason..."
"Oh really? And what's that?"
"Um, well because..."
"What? Because she's different?"
Whoa, this guy was actually standing up to the popular kids just for my sake.
"Um... Excuse me, but you don't have to stand up for me. They'll just do it again anyway."
The boy looked back and I realized that it was the boy I had bumped into this morning.
