The smell of marijhuana and alcohol lingered through the room as we stepped in uninvited.
"I'm gonna get some drinks!" Sophia yelled over the loudness in the house.
I didn't know what they were "serving" but I did know that I didn't want any.
I stood there watching and taking in everything that each person did. The movement that their bodies made. The glistening sweat that was being produced due to lack of room in the small house.
"Here yah go, girl." Sophia handed me a red cup with a strange liquid.
"What is it?"
"Just vodka." She laughed.
You can tell I don't drink much. I took a small sip that turned into many gulps. I don't know why but the burning clear liquid running down my throat gave me pleasure.
"Woah! Slow down, Mia!"
"Let's dance!" She shouted.
"No! I'll make a fool of myself!"
She tugged me on the dance floor, ignoring what I had just said.
I stumble to get where everyone were grinding and moving to the pounding beat.
"I can't do this!" I shouted.
"Yes you can! Just don't think about it!" She smiled.
I did what she told me and I went along. As I watched everyone dancing, I did the same. Observing every move. I swayed my hips to the music while laughing at myself because of how stupid I must look.
After a bit of grinding on my best friend and hip rolling to the beat, I walked over to get a drink.
There was a boy who kept his eyes on me while I pressed my lips against the cup and took a sip.
I noticed him staring while I was dancing but I didn't think much of it.
My cheeks red from embarrassment as we made eye contact and started walking towards me.
Before I could even say a word, I feel two large hands above my waist, pulling me closer.
"Hello, love" the curly headed boy whispered in my ear.
"I-I'm Mia" I stuttered.
"I couldn't help but notice how sexy you look dancing."
"I'm sorry I'm here with a friend." I said as I attempted to walk away from him.
"You can't get away that easy." He said as he pulled my wrist.
My lips parted as a slight whimper left my mouth.
The smell of alcohol in his breath made me close my eyes as I breathed in.
"Your to beautiful to let go." He whispered into my ear.
I feel his large hands on my waist as he pulls me close, looking deep into my eyes.
Before anything went further, Sophia pulled me away.
"Sorry, boy! Better luck next time!" She yelled as we pulled me out of the house.
"What?! What's going on?" I said as it close the door behind me.
"I heard the cops were coming! We have to move!"
We get in the car and drive off to her flat. I didn't notice it was three in the morning. But my mum knew I was staying over at her house anyway.
Her parents left her when she was 16 and she was forced to get a job and get her own place.
"Who was that?!" She said with excitement.
"You know him?"
"Just met.. "
The rest of the car ride I spent smiling at the brief memory of his beautiful face. I had a weird feeling about him.. A good feeling.
But ill never see that boy again.
