2. Doomed

There was a time so long ago

when the world was black and white.

There was a time when peace reigned,

now all we do is fight.

Tensions run high,

sense runs low,

and everywhere,

the scars show.

The leaders don’t listen,

the people don’t speak.

The masses are strong,

the individuals are weak.

Wars break out,

are brought to a close.

To fight is death,

everyone knows.

Someday soon,

the earth will crumble.

“Whose fault is this?”

the people will grumble.

Nobody’s but our own,

as people here.

Human beings -

bringers of fear.

We’ll destroy this world

before we go.

We’ll leave it behind,

with nothing to show.

There was never a time, not even long ago,

When the world waxed black and white

we’ve always been, we’ll never change,

forever doomed to fight.
