"So tell me more about Cameron," Niall says the next day when we're sitting on the dock. "What do you want to know?" I ask nervously. "What did she do to you?" he replies, studying me closely. "Just like...made fun of me and stuff," I say, not wanting to go into full detail. Cameron made my life horrible, and reliving those memories makes me want to throw up. Niall nods. I think he can tell I don't want to talk about it. "What if we do something to get your mind off of her?" he suggests. "Like what?" I say excitedly. "Oh, I don't know," Niall says. "Anything you want to do?" I shrug. "I don't have any classes after 2:00, so whatever we want to do we can do afterwards." Niall's eyes light up. "Let's go mini-golfing!" I laugh at his enthusiastic tone. "Sure," I say. "Sounds fun." Niall pulls me into a hug. "It's a date," he says before kissing my forehead. Even though Niall and I have been together for about a year, I still feel a tingle when he kisses me.
"Why are you so good at this?" Niall asks, pouting as I hit another hole-in-one. He groans when his bright green ball falls into the little stream. I laugh and help him retrieve it. "I play this all the time with my friends back home," I tell him. "I've had loads of practice." Niall frowns in concentration as he lines up his shot. "No," I say, hurrying over to correct his positioning. "Thanks babe," he says. He swings and the ball flies right past the hole. Niall falls to the ground dramatically. "Go on without me," he says. "I can't do this anymore." I laugh at his performance and help him up. "Come on," I say. "Don't be a wimp. You're getting better." The game continues for 7 more holes, and I end up beating Niall by a landslide. "I had fun," he says, climbing into the car. "Me too," I agree. "I like beating your ass at mini-golf." Niall shakes his head. "Unbelievable," he says, making me smile. "We should do it again some time," I tell him. He agrees, saying, "And next time, you won't be as lucky." We bicker back and forth about who's better at certain things until we reach camp. "It's empty," I observe, looking around. No boats, canoes, or kayaks are on the lake, no one's on the soccer fields, and no one is walking around. Niall takes my hand. "Let's find out what's going on," he says and we head toward my cabin. We knock on the door and wait. "Who's there?" I hear Emma call a moment later. "It's me," I shout back. "Why wouldn't she just open the door?" I ask Niall. He shrugs, looking apprehensive. "Oh, Ally, I'll be right there," Emma says. Two seconds later, the door opens. "Emma, where is everyone?" I ask. "Why is the camp deserted?" She sighs. "You didn't hear?" she questions. I shake my head. "Zayn escaped from jail," she says. "The whole camp is on lockdown."
