Jake and I walk in the front door and we immediately go to the kitchen. I open the cupboard and there's only two chocolate Rice Krispies left. I grab them and add Rice Krispies to the list of groceries.
"Damn." Jake says while looking at the list.
"Elli forgot to go to the grocery store last week." I say and Jake nods.
"I can tell." Jake says, "Do you have any homework?" Jake asks.
"Well my Writing teacher told our class that we have to write an essay about something we love or hate or feel." I say.
"You didn't even bring a bag to school." Jake says.
"I will tomorrow." I say.
"What do you need for your classes?" Jake says.
"Well you're in most of them." I say, "We need a binder for Math and a binder for English." I say.
"I don't have binders." Jake says.
"We can go out and buy some." I say, mainly to get out of playing football.
"Alright, I got money." Jake says.
"Lets go." I say but he stops me.
"We don't have a car." Jake says.
"Oh. Well we can walk." I say and Jake smirks.
"You want out of football don't you?" Jake says.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." I say, "Now lets go." I add and walk out of the kitchen with Jake following.
"Where are we going?" Jake asks and I stop.
"Probably just the Dollar Store. But I've got to change out of this outfit, these shoes are killing me. Just wait on the couch." I say and walk upstairs.
I shut and lock my bedroom door. I go over to my closet and kick off my shoes. I put on light blue skinny jeans, a white short sleeved t-shirt, a teal hoodie, a white beanie, and teal Converse. I run down the stairs and see Jake getting up once I jump down on the floor.
"I'm ready." I say and we walk out the door.
