I walk up to Jake's front porch and knock on the door. He opens the door immediately and I get a whiff of his usual cologne. Musk. I love that on him. I smile as he hugs me.
"I'm so happy you came!" Jake says which doesn't sound anything like him, "Did you bring the money?" Jake adds and pulls away from the hug. Now that's the Jake I know.
"Yeah." I say and pull the twenty-five dollars out of my back pocket.
"Beautiful!!" Jake says as he takes the money. What an idiot.
"Me or the money?" I joke and he winks silently while giving me a look-down. What was that? I fake chuckle to push the awkward silence away and he fake chuckles along with me.
"Come in." Jake says and opens the door wider so I have room to walk in. I step inside and smell coffee. This guy is crazy for coffee. I never see him without coffee. I don't know how he's going to live through the first day of school, no coffee.
Jake walks into the kitchen and I follow him to see his brother, Josh, drinking a cup of coffee.
"That better not be my coffee." Jake warns him and Josh rolls his eyes.
"No I'm not drinking your precious coffee, Jake." Josh says and Jake pours himself a cup of coffee. I sit down at the counter and Josh leans over the counter facing me. He smirks at me and I smile.
"Hi Josh." I say and he winks.
"You want some?" Jake asks as there's some extra coffee.
"Sure." I say and Jake pours the last bit of coffee in a cup for me. He slides it across the table and I catch it.
"Thanks." I say.
"You are very welcome." Jake says jokingly and I giggle while taking a sip of my coffee. Josh leaves the room while taking one last look at me. I give him a nod and he smirks. I turn my attention back to Jake and he has a angry look on his face as he's looking at the spot where Josh just was.
"What's wrong?" I ask and he shakes his head, "So why did you want me to bring money?" I ask, changing the subject.
"Don't get mad." Jake said.
"Give me my money back." I say and Jake puts down his coffee.
"No." Jake says.
"Give me my money Jake." I say sternly and Jake puts his hand on his back pocket.
"It's not going to happen." Jake says.
"Jake just give me my money! I don't want to get in trouble!" I say and walk around the counter.
"No." Jake says.
"Give me it!" I say while going for a grab but Jake pulls my arms back, "Jake! Give me my money! I am not getting in trouble and ruining my chance to get into college!" I yell and he smiles at the sight of my struggle.
"No. Now listen to me and calm down." Jake says impatiently.
"How am I supposed to calm down??!!" I yell angrily and he holds me still.
"Sean is making me do a deal for him. We'll get it then we'll go to his house and give it to him. You can wait in the car if you want." Jake says and I take a deep breath, "Look at me." Jake says.
"I'm going to get in so much trouble." I say as I look into his deep blue eyes.
"Did you hear me?" Jake asks.
"Yes." I say.
"Will you let me keep the money?" Jake asks.
"Blake please." Jake pleads and I melt into the sight of his eyes.
"Fine." I say and Jake hugs me.
"Thank you!" Jake says.
"Pay me back." I say.
"I will." Jake says and pulls away from the hug.
We walk up into his room to get the rest of the money he needs for the deal. I can't believe he's getting me into this. He grabs twenty-five bucks from his wallet and puts my money with his money.
"Let's go." Jake says. I take a deep breath.
