16. Introducing River_Summers

Username: River_Summers
Name: [This information has been removed courtesy of the CIA]
Age: 13
Country: New Zealand

At what age did you start writing?
Only about two years ago, and looking back, I was terrible.

What inspires you to start writing?
Ideas. Usually I have an idea that I just have to write down, which then spirals out of all control. And praise helps me write too. I'm one of those awful, deplorable people who thrives on praise.

How do you beat writer’s block?
I read fan fiction, drink tea, and play depressing piano pieces very loudly.

Do you consider writing to be a serious career choice?
Not for me personally. I might one day write the one-off story and decide to try to publish it, but I don't look to it as my future career.

What advice would you give to a first-time writer?
Just start. Keep going. I was awful. I was absolutely awful. Now? Now, I'm mediocre. It's awesome. :)

What’s your advice for the next ambassadors after you?
Probably do more than I'm doing. Don't click on the Movellas tab and stare blankly at your profile like I do. :) Welcome new users, be friendly, and be kind.

What’s your motivation to be ambassador?
Just the fact that I love Movellas so much. It's awesome.

what's the most embarrassing moment of your life so far?
Oh God... nah, I can't say. It's too awful.

What's gotten you into writing?
Reading. I wanted to be like the authors I read, so I started writing. :)

What's your favorite genre of books and films?
Probably... well, I like fantasy and realism, but I generally just like every genre. Not too keen on horror, though.

what's your favorite film?
Oh gosh. This is some deep stuff. Well, I loved The Perks of being a Wallflower, but it's not my favourite film... I honestly have no idea.

What got you into reading?
My mother. She's an author, so my earliest childhood memories are of her sounding out words for me.

What age did you start reading?
About... 3? Pretty young, I think. My teachers were scared of me. :)

Favourite Band, singer?
My favourite band is The Piano Guys, favourite singer is Adam Lambert (guilty pleasure), and even though you didn't ask, my favourite musician is either Beethoven, Haydn, Chopin, or Tchaikovsky.

Favourite song?
Moonlight Sonata. :) The oldies are the besties. :)

What music inspires you?
Classical music, and depressing waily cliche music.

Can you give the new movellians or old movellians some advice?
Enjoy the site for what it is; a writing site, where friendliness thrives and writing blossoms.

Do you have some advice for people who want to apply as ambassador?
Spend too much time online.

What's your favourite quote?
Anything by Oscar Wilde. "Some bring happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go."

Advice for bullied, who gives up fighting to be happy?
Get right up in their face and sing Blue Suede Shoes, then shout something unintelligible about aliens and invasion and infinity, then run away with your head tilted at an alarming angle. Basically, convince them you're crazy. Worked for me. Still does. :)

Best childhood memory?
Still pretty young! But I once went to a writing convention with real authors, and I walked out feeling like I could do anything. I felt... infinite.
