Name: Maude (it's way shorter!! ^^)
Country: France (it ain't a secret anymore, I guess!)
At what age did you start writing?
I started writing when I joined Movellas so 17, unless if writing essays for school counts. x)
What inspires you to start writing?
Absolutely anything! It can get a single word or a simple object. I wrote a movellas after spending 5 minutes staring at a venetian mask in my bedroom, so yeah, anything can inspire me!
How do you beat writer’s block?
I stop thinking about my story, my plot and my characters for a few days. Just listening to music, going for a walk on my own and, of course, going to school.
Just do something else and let's your mind wander for a while.
Then, the idea can hit me in the middle of the day when I last expected it. Thinking about something else really helps!
Do you consider writing to be a serious career choice?
To be sincere, no. You can think I'm weird but that's not what I've always wanted to do. It's really nice and I kinda fell in love with writing but still. I'd love to work in tourism (I'm starting studying that in a few days) so you can get to talk with people and not stay in a room in front of your laptop. ^^
But I'm sure it would be nice to be a writer anyway!
What advice would you give to a first-time writer?
I'd say... write as if criticism didn't exist. At first you're afraid that no one will like your story and any comment can make you give up. But if you don't care and write for yourself first, then nothing can stop you!
One day, you'll read back all those stuffs you wrote and you'll both laugh and smile proudly because YOU did it.
What’s your advice for the next ambassadors after you?
Don't take your job too seriously because it can cause trouble. Being ambassador doesn't mean you're superior. So stay humble!
What’s your motivation to be ambassador?
I spent a whole year on the website every day for hours so why not try to be useful?
what's the most embarrassing moment of your life so far?
When I was in summer camp two years ago and I yelled to a friend of mine that yes, I was in love with that boy since ages. And when I turned around, he was only a few meters away and staring straight at me. He ignored me for a whole day afterwards...^^'
What's gotten you into writing?
I started reading fanfic on my phone but I couldn't get the updates because I had no account. So I made one and carried on reading and after a while, I decided to give it a try. So, it's mainly fan fictions. xD
But it helped me with my English a looot!
What's your favorite genre of books and films?
Romance and fantasy.
what's your favorite film?
My favourite film is Howl's Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki. It's an anime but I love it. But if you want a movie with real actors, then it'd be Pride And Prejudice by Joe Wright.
What got you into reading?
The beauty of the French language! (okay, that sounds weird but when a book is beautifully written in French, you can't imagine how proud you feel for having it as your mother tongue.)
What age did you start reading?
As soon as I knew how to read. So maybe 4?
Favourite Band, singer?
One Direction (if that wasn't obvious! xD)
My favourite singer has to be Phil Collins because his songs are absolutely wonderful and very true.
Look Through My Eyes by Phil Collins. It always brings a smile on my lips every time I listen to it. That song is full of hope!
What music inspires you?
The music I listen to? Obvious, yeah. But you can't be inspired by what you don't listen!
Can you give the new movellians or old movellians some advice?
Don't hate someone because he writes 1D fanfics.
Do you have some advice for people who want to apply as ambassador?
Spend hours on the website and talk with people! They surely won't bite you!
What's your favourite quote?
"I have seen the dropping of many tears of love which will endure longer than the stars of the sky" Charles Peguy.
It just sounds beautiful (more in French cause the writer made something special with the sound and that can't be translated... :/). Even if it ain't very useful.
Advice for bullied, who gives up fighting to be happy?
If you give up when in the darkness, you'll never the light ahead of you, weakly shining. Never give up, don't give a shit because they ARE the real shit. And never face it alone because it's not shameful to ask for help.
Best childhood memory?
Any moments I spent with my best friend. They become rarer and rarer so I cherish each and every I have.
