At what age did you start writing?
When I was in year 1. I loved writing ever since. Making up my own imaginary world and having anything I wish come to life in my head. It was amazing and it still is.
What inspires you to start writing?
There is not a specific thing that inspires me to start writing. I take in things all around me. I take in real life stories, peoples past experiences and my own personal experiences. Sometime pieces of art and music are my inspiration. Basically whenever something interests me and gets me thinking, it automatically becomes my inspiration to write.
How do you beat writer’s block?
That’s a hard one. Something that every writer goes through and it can feel like your digging yourself out of a never ending hole. But I generally just take a break from writing; leave it and come back to it. However, for those times when I really need to write something but nothing comes to mind, I experiment. I have this jar where I put little pieces of paper that had ideas and prompts written on. Take one out and write anything and everything about it. I think, for me, that’s how I beat writers block.
Do you consider writing to be a serious career choice?
Yes, most definitely. I love writing and what could be better than having a career that you really love. Sometimes I find it difficult to get started off on something or putting it out there, but I always think ‘all in good time’. When the time is write I will finish my first book and publish it, or be a journalist or something! Just never give up.
What advice would you give to a first-time writer?
I’d say, don’t over think about it. Just do as you wish. Heck, just write the first things that come to your mind, because that is the most fun way of writing. It expresses the inner you, your inner author. Always try and look to improve your work, because not even the biggest of authors are perfect. Never say no to construct criticism, because that is what is really going to help you move forward. However, the most important thing is to have fun and never give up.
What’s your advice for the next ambassadors after you?
Try and do your job as best as you can. There isn’t much pressure to being an ambassador. Just make Movellas a better place. Keep negativity on a down low. You don’t want to cause argument, but solve arguments. Never be mean to anyone else, no matter what type of writer/movellian they are. But have fun being an ambassador; because that is the only way you can spread a positive atmosphere.
What’s your motivation to be ambassador?
My motivation is Movellas itself and the people who use it. I spend most of my day on Movellas, which gets other people annoyed at time. However, I can’t just ever give Movellas up; it has helped me in so many ways and for me to become an ambassador, its giving me a way to give back.
What's the most embarrassing moment of your life so far?
Most embarrassing moment… there are so many. *eek* The first that springs to mind is when I was about to go on this really high zip wire and I started crying at the top of the scaffolding. I said to the instructor to no push me off, but as predicted, he pushed me off. I felt my heart stop and I burst out crying. My class were all standing below watching me and say said my tears were like massive raindrops falling on their head. Then when I got off, I stumbled and fell. Might not seem that embarrassing, but in that moment it was.
What's gotten you into writing?
Reading. I was one of those children that read a lot when growing up and I still read a lot now. I always used to fantasize about being a famouse athor with my books on the shelves and having my books turned into films. Its excited me. So one day I picked up a pen and notebook and started scribbling away. That progressed to writing chapters and then that progressed to whole books. My dream is still yet to be completed, but all in good time.
What's your favourite genre of books and films?
I like different genres for both books and films. It depends it that particular concept interests me or not. I mainly like paranormal romances, actions and adventures.
What's your favourite film?
That is definitely a hard question. Why must you do this to me?! *breathes* Okay, so I would say as of now it’s still a film called ‘Now You See Me’. I loved magic and that was awesome sauce.
What got you into reading?
Nothing ‘got’ me into reading. I just read. I guess it just natural.
What age did you start reading?
I started reading at an early age. I think I was about 2 years old. However I fell in love with books way before then. I was a book baby.
Favourite Band, singer?
There are so many! Er, I like the bands Emblem 3, Coldplay, Plain White t’s, Bring me the horizon… there are so many more, but those are a few from the top of my head. Favourite singer, again there are so many that I like. I quite like Miley Cyrus, no matter what way she presents herself, her voice is awesome. I like… urgh, you can’t do this to me. If I were to say all of them, I’d end up making a long list.
As of this moment, it probably would have to be ‘Dream’ by Priscilla Ahn. However, my favourite song changes every minute.
What music inspires you?
As for writing wise dark violin rap instrumentals inspire me. Something with a hint of evil to it. I don’t know, but that triggers me to write.
Can you give the new movellians or old movellians some advice?
Just remember why you started and never forget your roots. Originality is the best path. Put yourself out there as much as you can and soon you will find that building your own fan base helps you to continue writing even better. It improves you along the way. Never forget to thank the people who help you and whatever you do; never delete any piece of writing… you will regret it.
Do you have some advice for people who want to apply as ambassador?
Be really active on the site. Be a peacemaker and try to be sort of an agony aunt and help and sort stuff out. Most of all, be happy and positive. Negativity never moved anyone forward.
What's your favourite quote?
‘There are devilish thoughts even in the most angelic minds’ – It makes you think, doesn’t it? However I do sometimes post my current favourite quotes in mumbles.
Advice for bullied, who gives up fighting to be happy?
Bullies need to be fed and their main energy source is attention. Don’t pay them attention and they will stop. Honestly they are not worth your time and most of the stuff they do or say is because they are secretly jealous of you. So keep your head held high, because you don’t want your crown falling off. To anyone being bullied, please tell someone, because there is nothing worse than a victim being quiet.
Best childhood memory?
I have so many good childhood memories but it’s hard to choose one, but I would say the day my little sister was born. I was so happy to have someone play with me and to just have a sibling that I can share everything with.
