24. Introducing Evelyn Shadownight

Username: Evelyn Shadownight
Country: Scotland!!!!!!!!

At what age did you start writing?
Four years old. Maybe five or six? I don't really know, to be honest.

What inspires you to start writing?
If my friends are upset or arguing, or if I feel upset, or really just if I want to do something, to get away from all the drama.

How do you beat writer’s block?
It beats itself. I generally give up, or sometimes just listen to music.

Do you consider writing to be a serious career choice?
Yes, definitely, although I wouldn't mind being a primary school teacher.

What advice would you give to a first-time writer?
Write about whatever you want to, and what you like. Experiment with ideas and plots, and don't be afraid to show others your work. If you're told you're not that good, or are turned down for a competition or something, don't be disheartened. J.K. Rowling was the first author to be a billionaire. look how many times she was turned down.

What’s your advice for the next ambassadors after you?
Help others, and do what you think is best for the site. Don't be afraid to put forward ideas, but don't let it get to your head.

What’s your motivation to be ambassador?
I want to improve my writing, and others' writing, and make movellas an even better site than it is already!

what's the most embarrassing moment of your life so far?
Well, considering I've only done anything 'embarassing' around my friends from Guides, and it's pretty hard to be embarrassed around them, because we're all completely mad, I think I'd have to say something from before I knew them - hen I thought you weren't allowed to wear pants in PE, and I took them off in front of the entire class. Or in nursery, when I had toilet paper trailing after me the entire day before anyone pointed it out. (It was my first time using the toilet!)

What's gotten you into writing?
Reading, really. I joined through the Harry Potter fan-fiction app, and without that, I probably wouldn't be here. Plus, my best friend is really creative and funny, and eccentric, and I often base a character around her, the most obvious of which is Molly from 'The Blood Bond', and Shadow from the 'Hidden' series.

What's your favorite genre of books and films?
Fantasy, Dystopia, or Realism.

what's your favorite film?
'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets'. Dobby is sooooooooo cute!

What got you into reading?
Um, I don't know. I guess it was really just getting away from all the drama of my life, and going into another's.

What age did you start reading?
I don't now (again). Probably about three.

Favourite Band, singer?
Band: One Direction, little Mix, or Five Seconds of Summer.
Singer Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Sia or Ariana Grande.

Favourite song?
'Chandelier' - Sia

What music inspires you?
Anything with a positive message about recovering from music, though sometimes the depressing songs make me happy, for some strange, unfathomable reason.

Can you give the new movellians or old movellians some advice?
Get yourself noticed in the RIGHT way. Be nice to everyone, and they'll notice you and read your stuff, and then you'll improve as a writer. Also, don't turn down advice.

Do you have some advice for people who want to apply as ambassador?
Be truthful, and make sure you really want to do this. Help others, so they know you're serious about this, and a good person.

What's your favourite quote?
'Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.' - Albus Dumbledore.

Advice for bullied, who gives up fighting to be happy?
Tell someone. I know it's hard - it took me nearly six years. Stand up for yourself if you can, and make sure you keep your other friends, and know who to trust. I know it's hard, but you just have to try to get b. You can win, and remember - Just because you're called 'ugly', it doesn't mean you're bad. Fairytales are fiction, after all.

Best childhood memory?
Today, when I had a silly string war.
