I am sprinting through the woods in my favorite red cloak as fast as I can. It feels like my heart is going to burst out of my chest. Civilians in the village by the next town over are all chasing me. I am petrified. I take a risked glance behind me. I then run right into a branch and my cloak is ripped off. I change into my wolf form and run. Then a man pounces on me and stabs me in the side. My wolf inside (Sarah) screams in both pain and shock while I growl. I then buck him off.
"Run, my dear Sy! RUNNNNNNNN!" My frandmother shouts at me. She then stops.
I keep going, but only by a few yards. I stop when I realize that she has stopped and is no longer coming. "Grandmother! Come on! We must go!" She then looks down sadly and just shakes her head.
I then see all of the villagers. There are more than we expected.
A thought hits me squarely in the chest and almost knocks me off of my feet. She's sacrificing herself for me.
I scream as the villagers swarm her. Soon enough, she's gone. Her body is jumbled up and limbs are attacking everywhere. Her eyes are glazed and she is just staring up at the sky.
They all turn towards me and I turn into my wolf form. I run and run. Obeying my grandmother for about the 5th total time in my life. I don't stop running. I just keep going and going. Everything is just a blur for me.
The world is all going by so fast. I don't even bother to look. Eventually, I pass out, due to exhaustion.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I run and run. Not stopping. I ignore the heavy blood flow and pain in my shoulder. Eventually, I am forced stop and take a break to assess my wounds. I turn into a human again and writhe in pain. My shoulder hurts horribly. I then realize that I'm in a pack's territory. I'm going to be in quite some trouble. That's just great. I take my clothes off and then set my backpack neatly next to them.
I hobble over to a tree turn back into a wolf. I growl in pain as I shift into my white wolf. I can't do anything, because I'm in such pain. just pad around and cuddle up, into a warm position. So, this is what it feels like to die. Hmmmm, interesting. I think.
I then shift into a ball position and slowly fall into the darkness that begs to surround me.
