6. Chapter 4- Accepting Death

I woke up in a strange place, not feeling my best. Hovering above me was the Doctor. He was fiddling with stuff beside where I was lying and sat back down in a chair that was just now showing itself to me. I tried to take in everything else that was here. It wasn't a room at all, it was a makeshift hospital in his T.A.R.D.I.S. I was in a bed and the machine that the Doctor was fiddling with was a heart monitor. Down below there was the control room for the T.A.R.D.I.S. along with Amy and Rory.

"Hello," the Doctor started. He sounded old and too experienced, which made him sad. "I'm the Doctor."

"Am I dying, Doctor?" I asked, knowing that the Silent's shot was too good for me not to be dead already.

"Yes, you are." he stopped and it sounded as if he was trying to keep a lump from forming in his throat. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I could have helped you, protected you."

"But I fought alongside the last of the Timelords, not something you can say everyday."

"Amy and Rory can," the Doctor said as he chuckled. I joined in, but it hurt to much to continue for long.

"Well, not something that one of us can say." I smiled, and I felt my heart start to race a little. My vision blurred slightly. "I don't want to go,"

"Oh, but we all have to at sometime. Accepting death is the hardest thing to do, and when you do this before, it makes it a lot easier." His cold hand touched my burning forehead, he let his thumb trail behind.

"But, I'm not ready. I don't want to die, Doctor. It would be creating a genocide."

"The Shadow Proclamation will put the sentence on the Silence for what they have done." He held one of my hands.

"I've always wanted to see the stars, Doctor. Visit galaxies, see the universe." My vision blurring even more, I squeezed the Doctor's hand. I sighed, "I have accepted my death. But before I go, there I something I want to give you for helping me. On the leather cord around my neck, there is a vial full of gold dust. This is the story behind it." I explained everything from Helio and Warrior, to the vocal cord manipulation in Kate Stewart's office and the Silence, which he already knew about. "And this is for you. You will need it more than I will, there are five more left in there. Use them wisely," I paused and took one deep but shaky breath in and then released it. "And thank you." My heart raced and I felt my eyes shut.

I slowly opened my eyes in a dream like state and I was greeted by Helio.

My Helio. And Penelope, and Jonathan. And we were on Romern.
