I stood her in this empty room staring at my reflection in the mirror. I was back in my childhood home, it felt like I'd been away for a lifetime. Although, nothing much had changed here. My bedroom was filled with unopened boxes that I was too lazy to actually unpack when we moved back home but right now, I was out of time.
"Violet, are you okay?" I heard my mum's voice from behind me as I turned to face her.
"It's just weird to be home." I sighed moving around my room finally sitting down on the bed.
"Well we've been going for two years, when you're sixteen that's a long time." I watched her move over to me. "Why don't you call your friends? They don't know that we're back from Spain? You guys were inseparable, those feelings just don't go away."
"Thank you." I smiled, heading downstairs and grabbing my jacket while I noticed Dad standing in the kitchen.
"Listen, I know coming back here brings back here right in the middle of school isn't the easiest of choices..." He started in my direction. "You okay?"
"Dad, I'm still keeping your secret..." I looked down at the floor.
"I just meant are you okay coming back here?"
I ignored him and just pushed straight past, heading out of the door and into the car. I knew Dad was driving me so he was going to try and make sure his secret was safe. One way or another I was going to have to talk to him.
"Later." Jake said, quickly grabbing his bag and getting out.
"See ya." Dad answered back, waiting until the door was closed to continue talking. "Hold on a minute."
"It's my first day, I don't wanna be late." I sighed.
"I love you, Violet. You know that, right?"
"Yeah, I know."
"And you know that I love your mum..." Dad continued this awkward conversation.
"Do you?" I glared at him.
"I made a mistake and I will be sorry about it for the rest of my life." I nodded slowly. "I just hope that someday you'll be able to forgive me."
"I hope so too." I quickly picked up my bag and rushed off towards the school.
"Seriously, she's like stalking us Ems." I laughed.
Emily and I had just ran off down the path and away from a girl who appeared to be watching us from her bedroom window. We ran down a private parking zone, giggling and continued to walk, talking about the girl and were we'd seen her as we headed into a nearby shop.
"Shall we get a drink?" Emily turned to me, pointing to the rack of cold drinks.
"Sure, I'm just gunna go to the toilets." I nodded and walked off over into the back of the shop, passing the staff room. "Oh my god." I muttered to myself, staring down the corridor into the staff room.
I saw a blonde woman sitting on a sofa, right next to my dad. They were kissing. In that moment, I felt like I couldn't breathe. I never believed my Dad, the man that could never do any wrong was finally doing something wrong. Something that had the potential to tear my whole world apart.
END OF FLASHBACK
"Violet?" I heard a familiar voice call when I turned around.
"Emily!" I smiled as she moved forward, holding a few bags.
"When did you get back? Oh my god, I haven't seen you in a while!" She smiled at me.
"I almost didn't recognise you, last time we saw each other you were blonde? What happened?"
"Oh, I didn't really like blonde anymore." I looked at the floor as we continued walking.
"You should've called..."
"I know, I just didn't know what to say. We haven't seen each other in so long." I chuckled a little heading up the stairs and finally into our first class.
"We've got a new teacher, can't wait to meet him." Emily giggled as she sat down in her desk next to mine.
"Scarlett." I waved as came over.
"I can't believe you're back!" She smiled.
"You look amazing." I stared at her.
"As do you." Scarlett giggled as the teacher walked in.
"Okay everyone settle down. Take your seats." He didn't even look at the class he just moved over to his desk, placing down his bag.
"We'll catch up later." She whispered and walked off to her desk.
We all watched as the teacher finally looked up at us. "Oh my god." He muttered to himself as I looked up, making eye contact with him. "I- um... I'm Mr.Bieber, your new Teacher."
I shook my head in disbelief, this cannot be happening.
It was last period and everyone was rushing home, but I had somewhere I needed to be and right now, that wasn't home. I slowly made my way down the corridor and knocked on Mr.Bieber's door. I noticed him look up as I walked in.
"I told me you went to Ferndown..."
"No, No... I said I was thinking about heading there if things had changed here. And that's true." I moved forward, towards his desk.
"Look, I think you're amazing, Violet. When I first met you I thought who's this girl." I watched him look away from me. "But, I'm your teacher."
"I know it's not just me you feel like this is right for us too..." I looked down at him.
"But it's not right, we just can't." He stood up and quickly exited the class room without hesitation.
I sat with Emily and Scarlett in the park before we both finally headed home, my house was a five minute extra walk. So we said our goodbyes in our usual spot and then all parted different ways. I moved past the local shop and then headed down an alley way when I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I quickly turned my body around.
"Hello?" I called. No answer.
I kept walking, but a little faster this time because I had a feeling I was being followed but out of the dark trees came Justin.
"What are you doing here?" I stared at him.
"I wanted to talk." He quickly responded.
"In a private alley way? No scary enough for you?" I chuckled slightly as he moved forward.
"I just wanted to say sorry about earlier, I was totally out of line and I'm sorry." Justin looked at me. "I don't know what I'm more sorry about, having to stay away from you or being an ass about it."
"Well thank you." I nodded. "I would never wanna do anything that would get you in trouble."
I turned the other way and continued my walk when Justin pulled me back to him and kissed me. It was like nothing I'd ever experienced before, this was something different. These feelings I have for him, are real. Real true feelings. I slowly pulled away and quickly walked off to my house.
