I didn't leave the Manor. Malfoy seemed nervous about that knock, and he wouldn't tell me to leave unless I shouldn't be seen by this person.
So, instead, I Apparated in the room he loaned to me. I snuggled under the warm blankets, and listened.
The door opened. "Hello."
"Hello, Draco." The voice was familiar- like I should know it, but I don't.
"Come in." Malfoy's voice seems strangled.
"Where is your mother?"
"Doing what, exactly, Draco?"
"I don't know. She didn't tell me."
"I think you're lying to me, Draco. And no one lies to me."
There was loud shouts and scuffles. "I-I'm sorry!" Draco screams.
"Oh, are you now?" I wanted nothing more in that moment to knock that person senseless.
"Yes! I am! Please!" Came Draco's agonized scream.
"I don't believe you."
I knew who it was then. It was George Weasley.
Suddenly, I knew I had to take action. Looking back, I know that this is when I realized I liked Draco back.
I couldn't just lie here while Draco is getting beaten. I ran downstairs and stared George straight on.
"Neville? What the hell are you doing here?"
"The same could be said for you. To answer your question, Malfoy took me in."
"I'm here to finish him."
I gaped. "Why?"
"He part of Fred's death. He turned me into what I am now... He made me a monster!"
"George! You are not a monster!"
He just stared at me and left. "Oh, my Lord."
Draco collapses on his hands and knees, coughing.
"Draco? Are you okay?"
"Nothing I haven't gone through before."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah- he says between coughs, standing up. "How about you?"
"Hurt. I can't believe George would so something like this.... It's not like him...."
"People can surprise you."
I look at him, but I see him different.
"God, this is stupid," I say, running my hand through my hair. "But I could kiss you right now."
"Whoever said you couldn't?" He asked, pressing his lips to mine.
