It was a rainy day, these days was the best, because these days Stan could run free. He didn’t have to worry about other people. Where he lived, people often were inside when the rain flushed through the land. He was on his own, and he had been for a long time, he missed someone to share his life with, but he wasn’t normal. He was different, even though he could make the change happen by himself now, it was hard to keep it a secret. It was even harder because people didn’t believed in unicorns anymore, so he had to be careful on his runs in the forest. He was such a beautiful unicorn, his fur was as white as snow, and the wings too, but with a touch of blue. If he could just show one person how beautiful unicorns really is, his life would be happy.
“Excuse me, but where can I find currycombs, hoof picks, and that stuff?” Stan turned around and looked at the girl, who had asked him the question. “It’s in the other corner”, he replied, and pointed. “Thank you” she said, “I really need some new stuff, my horses miss some quality”. “Oh right yes, it’s over there. You have your own horses?” asked Stan. “Yes, I have a stable, Clover, you know that?” “Yes, yes I do, or, I have heard of it”. “Yes, nice” the girl replied and laughed a little. Then she went over in the other corner. The rest of Stans workday, he couldn’t forget that girl. There was something special about her. He just couldn’t figure out what it was, but there were something, and it was something about horses. Stan could feel that, because he was a kind of horse too, and that girl could do something with them.
Later that day, Stan stood in front of Clover, the stable the girl were at. He got inside and saw she was standing there. “Hello”, Stan said. “Oh hello”, she said a little surprised. “What are you doing here?” She asked confused. “Well, I… I just… couldn’t forget you, there was something about you. About horses. Is there anything, or?” He asked a kind of shy, and took his hand through his hair. The girl smiled and replied, “Well, yes. I have this feeling for horses. I can hear them. You know, I’m a horse whisperer. Does that sound weird? By the way, my name is Marie”. “Marie. Hello Marie. Horse whisperer”, he said a little concerned. Could she then see it on him? “No, that sounds cool. So, you can hear them? Talk with them?” “Yes, I would say that”, she said, looked at him, and moved closer. “Are you that too?” she looked at him, in a kind of special way. He began to get warm, and a little nervous. Could she really see it? “No, I’m not. I don’t think so”. “Hmm, okay. You just look so… There is also something about you, and horses. You kind of remind me of someone”. “Well, but I’m not”, he said and looked her in the eyes and smiled. Then she looked down, and went a little reverse. “Sorry, you know, I’m engaged” she said. “Oh, of course, sorry, it wasn’t my intention to do anything” Stan replied, and smiled a little. “No, it’s okay” she said and smiled too.
Stan and Marie went pretty good friends, but Marie never get to know anything about Stans secret. He didn’t had the courage to tell her, in fear of what she would think. But Marie was wondering. Wondering about why Stan never would go out and have a ride on the horses, when he worked in a horse shop, and he also liked to carry around her horses, and take care of them. One day Stan decided to invite Marie into the forests, because he felt that he couldn’t keep it a secret anymore for such a good friend, that she were. “You know, Marie. I have something to tell you. Or rather show you”. Marie was excited about what it was he was going to show her. Then Stand suddenly changed, and Marie couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The first second she was looking at Stan, and in the next, the most beautiful unicorn was standing in front of her. It was amazing, and really unrealistic. It was also really scary. Marie got scared, and started to run. She ran all what she could out of the forest. It couldn’t be true. There doesn’t exist unicorns. No, there’s not. Marie was so scared, and also chocked, that she couldn’t talk to Stan anymore. She didn’t know what to do, and for her, that seemed to be the only great solution she could come up with. But on the other hand Stan was really sad. He couldn’t believe what was happened. Why did he show her, it’s just best if no one knows. He was broken, and Stan and Marie didn’t talk to each other for a long time.
After a while, where Stan has felt totally wrong, he went over to Marie. Stan and Marie talked for a long time, and every piece fell into place for her.
Stan had changed once again because Marie asked him too, she looked at him with her blue eyes and stretched her hand so she could touch his soft fur. She didn’t have to ask anything, because she could feel what he said. So Stan bend down and Marie sat on his bag, he ran and ran, and when they came to a cliff edge, he sat off and they flew. Stan hadn’t been flying for many years, he just hasn’t had the courage, but with Marie on his bag, he felt strong.
