"Oh, darling! You look gorgeous!" My mum screamed as I walked down our spiral stairs, feeling like a princess. I had a sky blue, one shouldered, dress that came just above my knees. She clapped her hands in delight as she gestured for me to turn so she could see the back of the dress. My dad came into the dining room, placing double AA battery's into the camera. He stood in the doorway,
"You look so grown up." He stated, gobsmacked, I laughed as I hugged him and my mum insisted that me and my dad had a picture together. We stood by the fridge, dad put his arm round me and mum snapped the picture that nearly made me go blind.
"Why is that so bright?!" I yelled as I rubbed my eyes,
"Don't smudge your make up!" Mum demanded as she smacked my hand away from my face. I tried to blink away the pain from the camera from hell. We heard the door bell ring, mum squealed in excitement. I rolled my eyes and went to open the door. Before I did, mum made my hair look more bouncy. When I finally got to open the door, Jake was standing there with a blue corsage in a see through box. He handed it to me without saying a single word. I took it and slipped it on my wrist, I smiled and my dad insisted on a 'photo oppertunity'. Me and Jake huddled by the fridge and he put his arm round me. I hope he doesn't fall in love with me, I wouldn't know what to say. I'm a professional matchmaker, I've never dealt with break ups. The camera flashed and Jake even found himself running his eyes. He was wearing a black suit and a blue tie. Totally gorgeous!
"Have a good time kids!" Mum shouted as we walked out the door and we both started laughing. He directed me to his flash sports car and he opened the door for me. The black leather seats stuck to my legs. When he got in he instantly turned the engine on and we were off. School was a few miles away,
"So, your favourite colours blue then?" He asked as I looked down at myself and saw all the blue I was wearing,
"Yeah, it's the same colour as my eyes." I spoke as I flattened my dress down a bit. Then I remembered that Jakes former girlfriend was Natalie Jenkins, she hates me already, probably because I'm not popular. Now that I'm going to Prom with Jake, she'll probably try to punch me.
"So, what college are you going to?" He asked as we stopped at traffic lights, he looked across at me and looked at my dress.
"Um, Oxford, you?" I asked as he put his arm round my chair and the green light went on again.
"Cambridge." He spoke, he sounded a little disapointed, I think I'm the only one going to Oxford in our whole year.
We pulled up at school and there were loads of girls in flawless dresses and boys in suites, it was an amazing atmosphere. There was balloons in the entrance and there was a picture moment for every couple. When it came to mine and Jakes turn he put his arm round me again and the camera flashed, this time it didn't hurt my eyes. We carried on walking into the main hall where music was blasting and kids were dancing.
"I'll stay with you all night." Jake yelled in my ear, so I could hear what he said. We walked over to the drinks table where Natalie was standing, she looked at Jake and smiled. His eyes widened and nodded. She looked away in disgust. I don't think she noticed me though. He handed me a glass of punch, I took a sip and instantly loved it. I'd never actually tasted punch before, it was lovely.
After a few hours a slow song came on, seemingly Jakes favourite song, he demanded that I'd dance with him. I would tell you what is was called, but to be honest, I didn't really hear him, so, yeah. We joined another ten couples on the dance floor and we joined hands and he put his other hand on my waist. I put my other hand on his shoulder, that's how I remember it from when I used to dance with my dad when I was little. He smiled at me and I rested my head in his chest, he must of been a few inches taller than me, I mean I'm 5'6". After the song had finished, he took my hand and led me to the car, to be honest, I was glad he wanted to go to, my feet were killing me. When we got in the car, he watched me as I put my seat belt on. He stared at me for a few minutes before I lent across him and put his seat belt on for him. It didn't look like he was going to do it himself. He followed me whenever I moved, I kept moving my head to make sure he was staring me. He took my head in his hands, he looked into my eyes,
"Your eyes are gorgeous..." He whispered studying them with every detail. I had to blink after a few seconds. I've never been able to keep my eyes open for more than ten seconds, if that.
"You are so pretty." He complemented me as he felt the material on the hem of my dress. I looked around, not knowing what to do, until he spoke,
"You are completely flawless." He admitted, I thought that was going to be the last of his complements, but it wasn't, sadly...
"Tonight, was the best night of my life... being with you, was like being on cloud 9. I love you." He stated, he couldn't take his eyes off mine, it was like he had special powers, I couldn't take my eyes off his either.
"I love you. Oh my god. I love you. I want to shout it from the rooftops. I love you." He whispered in a loud tone, my heart was beating out of my chest. What could I say? I was leaving for Oxford in six days. But then again, he was going to London too, great. There was no way I could say, 'it's not going to work, we're going to completely different places'. He looked at me, confused. I really didn't want to say it, I hardly knew him, but I couldn't, not say it.
"I love you too..." I spoke awkwardly, but convincingly. He took my face in his hands again and his lips crashed into mine. Did I really want my first kiss to be with him? Well it's happening, so there's no going back now. I wrapped my arms round him and he put his hands on my waist now. Happiness was all I felt until, we heard a knock on his window. He instantly pulled away. He looked behind me. His eyes widened. I slowly looked behind me. My eyes widening. I instantly recognised the face. Natalie.
