6. The Party Last Week

The Party Last Week

It was a beautiful Saturday night. The weather was pleasant that day -- clear skies, small breeze, and not too much humidity. The Northwestern Memorial Hospital had its annual barbecue in the late afternoon and now since night fall, the bonfire. Zayn always hosts it in his backyard ever since he became the head doctor. Everyone from the hospital was there - even those who have the night shift. Unfortunately, the people that work in the ER and ICU couldn't make it. 'Cause, you know, it's a very important job, but on the bright side, they get to come to the barbecue. Just not the bonfire.

Everyone was having a great time; many diverse conversations and a couple of beers here and there. Well, I'm underage, but no one here is a cop.
Alanna was no where to be found, so I was in the company of nurse Keisha Ellington. We call her nurse Keke, or just Keke for short. She's 5'8, a beautiful mix of white and African American, dark brown eyes, and long black hair. People mistake her hair all the time for a weave, but it's actually her real hair.

“And that's how I was able to grow out my hair.”

“Wow, I never knew that stuff would make your hair grow.”

“Yeah, all I needed to was-”

“Zayn Malik! How could you?!” Everyone stopped talking and diverted their attention to the direction of the loud pitched screech. Kayla was yelling at Zayn. I asked Keke what the hell was going on.

“Ooo gurl! Let me tell you,” She sipped some of her beer. “Okay, so apparently Kayla found Zayn and Alanna kissing near the house. Alanna left Zayn's house and Zayn is trying to explain to Kayla that Alanna kissed him.”

I stare in disbelief and then raised an eyebrow. “Keke, I know you're usually in the loop when it comes to gossip at NorthWestern Memorial Hospital, but how'd you find out that quick?”

“Girl, Alanna just texted me what happened.” I face palmed myself.

“Sorry, that was a shitty question.”

“It's cool. So, you driving her home?” I was confused.

“Uh, what for?”

“She just texted me this.” Keke just showed me a text she got from Alanna. It said:
Ask da cuzin 2 driv meh hum. Iz 2 drenk.

Oh lord.
