The internet is huge. But not huge enough for Ava to never meet her soul-mate. When Ava comes across the blog of someone with the pen-name 'retrac', somehow her life is transformed. With one simple message, a new love begins to blossom between two very different people. But whilst these two internet-crossed lovers exchange messages, a normal family gets along with their everyday life, just down the street. But behind every perfect scene, is a fault. What hides behind the darkness of the computer screen?

Sitting next to Ben, I watch as he defeats the horribly slimy monster on the screen with a multicoloured lightsaber (who knew that someday I would be watching something quite so entertaining).

"I did it!" He shouts, bobbing up and down on the study chair, waving his chubby little hands in the air.

"Yeah you did! That was great!" I exclaim, proud of him.

"Muuum," he begins, and I recognise the tone that means you wants something, "Can I get this new game called 'Multiwar Tanks'?"

"Do you have to pay for it?"

"No!" He answers straight away, pointing at he screen, "You just have to download it!"

I think about it for a second. "Well this is Daddy's computer but I suppose he wouldn't mind..."

In not even a second the button has been pressed, but instead of a loading bar, an icon pops up.

*Parental Permission*

Ben is transfixed on the screen when I look at him. "I don't the password, Ben, I'm sorry. This is Daddy's computer."

He stares at the screen for a few more seconds, and I think that maybe for a moment he' about to cry, but then he turns slowly to look at me.

"Would you kill me if I know his password?"

I'm shocked at how blunt he is. "Erm...no."

I'm considering pulling him away from the screen but then I remember the joy on his face when he had defeated the monster. How can I take away that happiness? It's just a game anyway. What's the harm?

"Go on. Type it in."

He smiles cheekily, spelling out the letters of the password. "d-o-r-i-t-o-s."

Huh. His password is just his favourite crisps. If I'd though about it enough I could have guessed that. Ben beat me to it.

The screen begins to load and I watch as the bar zooms from 0% to 100%.
