Ellen’s POV

I stand in line at the coffee shop mentally trying to remind myself to send Claudia a massage, it’s here birthday today in Australia but tomorrow over here, after I’ve ordered my coffee, I grab a pen from my bag and wright Claudia’s name on the side of my wrist, pulling my sleeve down and throwing my pen in my bag once im finished. A moment later the lady behind the counter calls my name, I step forward taking my coffee and thanking her, I step out of the coffee shop and start walking towards my car.

“Your Australian.” I hear a male voice and turn to see a guy a few steps behind me, I finally arrived at me car.

“Yes.” I unlock it but don’t get in quite yet.

“Im Dan.” He says out stretching his hand.

“Ellen.” I smile taking his hand and lightly shaking it, “Nice too meet you.” I have been stopped by countless amounts of people asking me where my ‘accent’ if from, most of them leave it at that and say a quick goodbye but I have a feeling this isn’t his intention. “Could I help you with anything, I do have to get going.” I state, I wasn’t lying I was heading to school.

“No, I’ll let you go, nice meeting you.” I smile and nod before pulling open the car door, he starts to walk away, I take a last glance at him before ducking into my car and placing my coffee cup in the middle console before starting it and driving towards the school, I have really enjoyed it so far, we are assigned books to read and review most weeks other times we are asked to right short stories to keep a file of our progress at the school, I‘ve met a few people that I think are really nice, a few of the girls there invited me out to a club one of the first weekends  I was here, then I told them my age, I am one of the youngest in the school which is extremely surprising, most people already graduated high school then came, not many actually left high school to be here, like me. I grab my things out of my car as I make my way towards my first class and head thought he doors, taking a seat in my normal spot, the class isn’t quite full yet but this is one of my favourite classes so far, I open my book and grab a pen to take notes and eventually I am off to my second class of the day. Most days I only have two classes but Fridays I have three, I take a seat beside Kimberlee and Paul who gladly join me in their convocation, they mostly just talk about the people there dating or the people they fucked on the weekend, I sometimes wonder if they have a past together but just leave it as there business and I don’t need to be involved. They tell me that when I turn eighteen there taking me out for the night but im not sure I am going to be in London, im sure I might go back to Australia for the week, catch up with my family and friends, but that’s still a few months away.

“What are you doing this weekend, huh missy?” Kimberlee asks and I shrug, tapping my pen on my blank paper.

“Sleep, call my friends, sleep.” They laugh.

“Why don’t you come out with us, im sure we can get you into a club.” Paul tells me causing me to laugh.

“I don’t feel like going to jail for sneaking into a club.”

“You won’t get caught, it will be fun.” Kimberlee states, I shake my head.

“I’ll leave that to when im the right age thanks.” I got a job at a restaurant a few minutes away from the apartment, the first day they showed me the basics and I was told I surprised them with the way I handle everything, I never told them I had been a waitress back in Australia and they say im a hit because I have an ‘accent’ to me there the ones with an accent, im just me, I let it go all the time not complaining, knowing im not at home and cant exactly tell them there the different one when everyone else sounds like them. The rest of the day goes by, notes being take in most cases before it was one thirty and I made my way home, when I took my jacket off now being warm in the heat of my apartment I remembered Claudia’s birthday when I got a glimpse at the ink on my wrist, I started my laptop and sent her a massage on facebook, a long paragraph sent straight to her inbox, a few moments later I was shocked with the sound of my Skype sending though a call, I noticed it was Claudia and answered straight away.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” I shout and she thanks me, she thanks me for the necklace I had left with her mum a few months prior and we talked for a while, she was having a sleep over with Tegan and having a big party in two days, I tell her Im sorry I can’t be there and we start talking about London, before I have to end it and get ready for work.

Next day

I woke up around seven and couldn’t get back to sleep, I decided to get ready for the gym and made my way there, I went to the change rooms and put my bag, jacket and track suit pants in my locker before going into the boxing room in my sports tights and sports bra but not before I grabbed my boxing gloves, water bottle and towel. When I came the first time I was surprised to see the boxing room was extremely similar to the one back home, I leave my bottle and towel on the side.

I feel my body heating and feel the drops of sweat rushing down my back, stomach, chest and back as I make continues blows to the bag, I don’t know how long I had been bashing the shit out of the bag hanging in the air but a whistle from behind me brakes me out of my ‘zone’ and back into reality. I turn around to see Liam leaning against the boxing ring, arms folded over his chest and ankles crossed. “Didn’t know you could box.” I look at the floor for a moment before looking back up at him and shrugging.

“I know a bit.” He scoffs.

“A bit? I think that’s the most I have ever seen a girl move and for that long with them techniques.” He pauses, “I didn’t know it was you till I got closer.” I start to peel my gloves off, and head towards my bottle and towel, odd to the side.

“What you didn’t picture me boxing? You though I was one that came to the gym to walk on the treadmill and watch all the guys train.” I wipe my body with the towel ridding myself of sweat.

“Not necessarily, I just didn’t think you would work yourself to this point.” I nod and take a long sip of water, “You know we have a position open here for a boxing trainer, why don’t you take it?”

“You work here?” he nods, “I was thinking about it.” I shrug, “the gym is fun for me but I don’t think I want to do it as much as a job intends me to, plus if I did it as a job I don’t do this.” I point to the bag, “I train people, not much fun. For me anyway.”

“Fair point.” He nods, “I just know I wouldn’t want to be at the end of them fists.” I laugh.

“Almost broke a guy’s shoulder once.” He laughs.

“How unfortunate for him.” I nod and shrug.

“He deserved it.”

“What did he do to deserve that.” I frown.

“He didn’t exactly deserve a broken bone but he deserved the punches I delivered, he ah, called me a bitch a few times to myself and my boyfriend at the time, and was taking advantage of his aunty’s house while she was out of town.” I shrug, “She was a nice lady.” His brow rises.

“You don’t like being called a bitch?”

“Not by drunken arseholes, no.”

“What was the age difference between the two of you?” I shrug.

“I don’t know I think I was two months younger then him, his mate was my boyfriend. He also liked me, I didn’t like him.” I take a sip of my drink before continuing, “How old are you, you don’t seem much older than me.”

“Im seven teen.” I nods.

“Same.” I pause, “You still in school?” he nods in reply.

“Yeah, not far from the apartment, you? I don’t think you ever told me why you moved half way around the world.”

“I got accepted to a writing school, it was kind of a big thing, being asked to come early was a surprise but.” I shrug, “If I didn’t take it I probably would not have been accepted again.” he nods.

“You’re at that school about ten minutes away, right?” I nod, “You must be good, I have had a few people that trained here, they didn’t get accepted, I read a few of ther peace’s in my opinion they were great but not good enough I guess. I’d like to read something of yours some time.”

“I guess I could give you something.” He smiles, I check my phone, I’ve been here three house, the whole time on the bags.

“I think im going to head home, I don’t feel too clean anymore.” We both laugh and he nods.

“I’ll see you later.” I nod and grab my things heading back to the change room, I don’t shower here, I don’t think it’s to hygienic, I’d rather walk or jog home and get in the shower there.

Liam’s POV

“Who was that?” Zayn asks as I join him again.

“The girl in the apartment across from mine.”

“I’d like to meet this girl in the apartment across from you.” I laugh and jump up on the table, swinging my legs off the side.

“She just told me she almost broke some guys shoulder because he called her a bitch.”

“Didn’t some girl fracture Harry’s shoulder because he was an arsehole to her?” He asks and I nod.

“Wouldn’t be the same girl, I don’t think. Did they ever mention an Ellen?” I look at him and he shrugs, “Plus she said that it was her boyfriend’s friend.”

“She’s taken?” he groaned causing a laugh to fall from my lips.

“I don’t think she will be interested, Malik.”

“You don’t know that.”

“She keep to herself, unlike you. I just found out she’s one hell of a writer, she got accepted to the writing school around here, the one people say is impossible to be accepted to and she was asked to come early.”

“So she stays up in the apartment across from yours writing and when she leaves she bashes she crap out of the boxing bags here, I wonder what she could do in a real match if she broke a guy’s shoulder.” I nod thinking about it.
