The Bully Blog

Laura Richardson has been bullied ever since she started her new school in Salem, Oregon. Her blog helps her with the pain of all the bullying, but writing is never enough. Even though her blog only gets a few views a week, she continues to write. What happens when she finds out who that one person is that always reads her blog?

7. Movie Day

I woke up to see Dylan had been staring at me and playing with my hair.

I said, "Good morning Dylan."

He said, "Good morning beautiful. When do you want to get pillows and blankets and watch movies?"

I said, "Uh, now. I will make some scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee. You can get this comforter and these pillows and put them on the couch."

Dylan smiled, "You have this thing planned well." We got up and fulfilled our duties and went to the kitchen to eat breakfast.

Dylan said, "Man. This coffee and food is amazing. Where did you learn to cook like this?"

I smiled, "Well I used to work at Starbucks when I first moved here. Also, my mom caters for weddings and parties. She used to be a personal chef too."

He asked, "What does your dad do?"

I looked down, "He got a promotion at his job as a Neurologist and had to move out here for the job."

Dylan said, "Cool. Well, I am finished. Let's go watch some movies."

We went to the living room and sat down on the couch. Dylan went on Netflix and went through the movies until we found one we both wanted to watch.

We started off with The Fault in Our Stars. Turns out, Dylan read the book too. Most of the time, I would doze off before we even finished the movies. I don't know why but I always get tired when I watch a movie.

I had fallen asleep on Dylan's shoulder. I woke up when I heard my phone going off. It was my mom.

I picked up, "Hello?"

My mom said, "Laura, your father and I are going to Los Angeles for a week because he has a conference there. Are you gonna stay home?"

I said, "I am gonna stay at Dylan's."

She asked, "Are his parents okay with that?"

I said, "His parents got him his own place. He lives alone."

She said, "Okay. I love you."

I hung up and said, "Looks like I am staying here for a week while my parents are in L.A. for a conference."

Dylan said, "Okay. We will have fun. I guarantee it." I laughed as he ended his sentence.

I said, "Well, uh. Ooh, The Giver just came out wanna go see that?"

Dylan said, "Yeah, check the show times."

I went on my phone and searched up the show times for The Giver. I saw that the next show time was 12:40p.m.

I said, "Dylan, the next show time is 12:40. Do you wanna go then?"

He said, "Yeah. It is 10:30 so we can both take showers if you want. Then we can go to your place and get you some clothes."

I smiled, "Okay. Where is your bathroom?"

Dylan said, "I have one in my room."

I headed off down the hall and into his room to take a shower.

When both of us had taken showers it was about 11:30.

I asked, "What do you wanna do for like thirty minutes?"

Dylan piped up, "I have a trampoline in my backyard. We can go on that." I smiled and pulled him up and out the back door.

I jumped right on and started doing flips and lay outs and handsprings.

Dylan stared at me open mouthed. I said, "What are waiting for? Get on."

He smiled, "Where di you learn all that?"

I said mid-layout, "I used to be an elite cheerleader before I moved here." I stood there waiting for him to get on. When he did, he ran over to me and started tickling me. I laughed uncontrollably.

Dylan laughed, "You are so cute when you laugh. Also, your lilac hair compliments your bright blue eyes amazingly but I think it would look better if your hair was dark purple."

I said, "We should get some hair dye after the movie and dye my hair. I think your hair would look good if it was a lilac or even dark purple like mine will be."

He said, "I guess I will dye my hair if my girlfriend really wants me to." I smiled and leaned over to kiss him.

I asked, "Have you ever had a girlfriend before?"

Dylan looked at me, "No I haven't nobody really likes the nerdy kid."

I said, "Well I do. And I am very thankful that I got you as a tutor." I sat there for a little bit, letting random thoughts fill my mind. I randomly said, "I just realized, if we dye your hair now, it will probably be purple when we graduate."

Dylan sighed, "Oh yeah. I don't care though. I will do anything for you." I nuzzled up to him.

I asked, "What time is it?"

He looked at his phone saying, "It is almost twelve. We should leave." With that we got up and went on our way.
