"Okay, so you're telling them tonight?" I ask, me and my dad were at the stadion lying on the grass.
"Yes, I promise." He answers and I sigh.
"So it's sure." I say and dad strokes my hair,
"yeah princess, it's completely sure." He says, I turn to look at him and hug him. I can't believe I actually kept a secret from Violet for so long. I was just thinking about how Violet would react when my dad shakes me out of my thoughts.
"Come on Blue, we have to go back home." He says and stands up, helping me up.
"Esther, Violet, I have to tell you two something important." Dad says as we were eating dinner, mom and Violet look curiously at dad.
"What is it hun?" Mom asks and grabs my dads hand. My dad was doubting if he should tell them, I saw it in his eyes. Dad looks at me and I nod. It felt like I was the adult and he the child, like he broke his moms shoes and his dad telling him to tell his mother.
"I-I got a new job offered, and I accepted it." He says, stuttering a bit showing he was nervous. "That's great news Oscar!" My mom says, while dad just keeps a straight face, not showing any emotions at all.
"The job is in London." He says getting straight to the hurtful truth. Moms smile turns into a frown and tears start to roll over her cheeks. Violet looks at me.
"You knew this?" She asks, I look down and nod.
"And you haven't told me?" She asks, her voice filled with anger. I don't answer and just keep looking at my plate. I try to tell myself that I promised dad to not tell her, but it didn't work. I felt like a horrible sister.
"I can't believe you!" She screams and walks away, making her chair fall. Mom sights and follows my sister out of the kitchen, not making eye contact with me nor my dad. I look at dad, tears were rolling down his cheeks. I sigh and hug him.
"Everything is going to be okay daddy." I say and place my head in the crook of his neck, he sniffles and nods.
"You're right princess." He says and I let him go.
"I'll go talk to your mother." He says and walks out of the kitchen, leaving me alone. I sigh and place my hands over my head. I hear the front door shut and I knew Violet was the one that left.
"I can't believe her." I say to Louis. We were in the park on swings.
"She didn't want to keep it from you." He answers and I look at him, feeling my head redden.
"You knew it too?" I ask him, but Louis shakes his head no.
"No, she told me that she could only tell me after she would've told you. She also told me that
it was really hard for her to keep this from you, but she promised that she wouldn't tell you." Louis explains to me. I sigh.
"It just hurts that she kept such a big secret from me." I say, and Louis rubs my back.
"I know Violet, I know."
