Before I had a chance to say anything, Blake grabbed me and said, "Come to save Alice, have we?" Then I punched him in the face.
Later, we stopped at a campsite. No tent, water, anything. Daisy pulled out her phone and called Jared. "Jared? Yeah we're at that campsite a few miles away. Okay. Yeah in the woods. K. Thanks." She sighed and shoved the phone back into her pockets. Taylor was holding Alice. Lauren was leaning her back against mine. It was sunrise, but we were shaded by the trees.
An old Ford pick-up stopped in front of us, it was in the road. A kid with brown hair, who was tall and pretty well-built, wearing a flannnel t-shirt, ripped jeans, and boots, came running through the trees. Daisy got up and hugged him.
I don't like this kid already.
"Okay, crash at my place tonight?" He asked. He had a southern accent, but not too strong. He also had brown eyes. "Yeah." Daisy said. She grabbed his hand and hugged him again. I stepped between them laughing. "That's enough of that." I said protectively, just covered by a laugh.
