Never Leave You Chapter 8
We ran past people through the crowded airport. We were shoving and pushing past everyone, we didn't mean it in a rude way but we were rushing to get to the front desk in a hurry to see if there was a plane available. Brooke isn't here in New York as she said, so why stay here? Dylynn was with us, running along next to Liam and myself. She came with to drop us off and say farewell. To Harry, he was happy she wasn't coming along.
We ran to the front of the line right when the lady said, "Next." People were shouting at us and flipping us off as we cut them all in line. Most of the people were beat red from anger. "Um excuse me-" "No time for that. We need five tickets to the next plane out of here," I said. The lady looked surprised at my sudden demand. "W-What?" she asked in bewilderment. "What is the next available flight out here? We need one as soon as possible. Anywhere. We don't care," Harry said, he rushed his words. "Uh- um. . . let me look," she said. She pushed her glasses up her nose and looked down at her computer. "W-We have Australia, San Francisco, or Las Vegas. Which one?" she stuttered over her words.
"Any flight. We don't care. We only need one," Niall said. The lady nodded and typed in her computer. She printed a ticket and handed us each of our tickets. I slammed down a handful of cash and we took off running. I didn't even care about my change. It was a good tip for her to make her day. The lady was surprised and so was everyone else.
We ran as fast as we could. Again, passing and shoving people. Of course we were getting flipped off and shouted at as we ran to the C gates. "We need to board gate C12," Zayn said. We nodded and turned a corner. "Gate C10 C11 and C12 is now boarding," we heard the intercom man say. "Hurry!" I shouted, worried. We arrived right when the man was closing the doors to the entrance of the plane.
"Wait! Wait! We need to board," the lads and I shouted. The man looked up and quickly opened the door. "Thank you so much," Liam said. Each of us gasped for air. We lined up as he took out the scanner to scan our tickets. Niall walked past, then Liam, then Zayn, then Harry.
I was last. But before I entered, I turned around and smiled at Dylynn. "Thank you so much," I said as I pulled her in a hug. She seemed surprised but hugged back. "You're welcome. I didn't help much but I'm glad I helped somewhat," she said, chuckling. We pulled back and I pat my pockets for a pen. I pulled one out and searched for a piece of paper but couldn't find one. Istear, I grabbed a hold of her hand and wrote my number on it.
"Here. So we can keep in touch," I said, grinning. She smiled and nodded. "I would like to keep in touch. You're not so bad Louis," she said. "You're not so bad either," I said, snickering. "Louis! Come on. We need to go," Harry shouted from behind me. "Right. Coming," I hollered back. I looked at Dylynn once more. "I hope to see you soon," I said. "You too. Good luck on trying to find your girl. She better be thrilled when she sees you. You've been through a lot. She is lucky to have you," she said.
"Thank you," I said, sincerely. I gave her one last hug and had the man scan my ticket. I saw Harry standing by the opening and saw him give Dylynn a small smile as she returned it. "Thank you," he mouthed. She nodded as in response. I smiled and pulled Harry through the boarding tunnel. We walked in the plane and the doors closed behind us.
We walked through the small boarding ramp and into the plane. It was a big plane inside. People were already buckled up in their seats, some were reading, or some where talking amongst themselves. We spotted Niall, Liam, and Zayn sitting down in the left side rows. Harry and I sat down at the row next to them. I sat by the window and Harry next to me. I turned off my phone and slid it back in my pocket. I rested my head against the head rest, letting my thoughts take over.
I sighed and looked over at Harry to see he was looking at a picture of him and Brooke on his phone. I patted his back- scaring him a little. I gave him a small smile as he returned it. "Where are we going?" he asked as he slid his phone back in his pocket. "I do not know," I said. He nodded and rested his head against the head rest as well.
We felt the plane began to move and slowly drive to the runway. "Well, all I hope is that this flight would be fast," Harry muttered from next to me. "Yeah," I whispered. "To where ever we are going," I added. A few minutes later the seat belt sign shown and those who were not wearing their seat belts had out them on.
"Good-evening everyone. We will be taking off shortly so please buckle your seat belts," the lady began. Then, she began telling us about what we should do in case of an emergency and how to use the air mask- the important information. "Now, I hope you enjoy your flight on Southwest. We will be arriving in San Francisco in a few hours," she said before the intercom went dead.
All of our eyes widen as we looked at each other from across the row.
"San Francisco," we mouthed.
The fresh, wide open air of San Francisco was something I haven't witnessed before. I breathed in the obscure smell of San Francisco and smiled. "Lads. She is here. I know she is. I can feel it," I said with hope. "Louis," Harry started, "you said that about New York." My smile faltered before I shook my head. He chuckled and walked towards a taxi- whistling for one. None of them stopped when we needed them.
"Well, this is definitely not New York," Harry muttered. A smile formed on my lips as I let out a snort. I walked up next to him and crossed my arms. "No. I don't think New York has the Golden Gate Bridge." I shook my head. Harry looked at me in bewilderment. "I wasn't talking about that," he said, shaking his head and walking away.
"Hey! I thought you were," I hollered to him. He chuckled and said, "No. I was talking about- you know what? Never mind." He sent me a nod before trying to catch another taxi. I walked up to the three lads. "Same plan?" Liam asked. "Of course!" I shouted out with a grin. "She is here. I know it," I said. They gave me a smile that didn't reach their eyes as they walked away.
I sighed as my smile faltered. I mean she is here. Right?
