Never Leave You Chapter 6
I paced across my hotel bedroom back and forth from wall to wall. The next day, three things were on my mind and they never left since last night. Brooke called. Brooke called. And Brooke called. I do not understand why harry hasn't and will not tell me, unless I force it out of him. That is not fair of him to do so.
I let out a long, frustrated sigh as I sat down on the edge of the bed and rested my head in my hands as I began to think. I rubbed my temples in circular motion and closed my eyes. I paused for a moment before opening my eyes. My eyes scanned the dark room until I saw my phone laying on the bedside table.
I bit my lip as I stood up and walked over to where it laid still. I hesitantly picked up my phone and unlocked it before I dialed the familiar number I knew by heart. It rung a few times before I was sent to Brooke's voicemail. Her loud, cheery voice spoke with enthusiastic, but I was sure it wasn't anymore.
I sighed and was about to hang up until I heard a beep letting me know I should record a voicemail. I opened my mouth to speak but quickly shut it. I opened my mouth again and stuttered over my words. "Buh-Brooke, I know you probably don't want to hear me," I spoke. I hesitated before speaking again. "Look. . . I know how much you hate me right now and I completely understand that but please call me. Everyone is worried including me. You probably will not believe that since the way I've been acting," I muttered. "But I am really worried. Harry is worried. Zayn is worried. Liam is worried and Niall is worried. Please call one of us like you promised. This isn't how it should be," I murmured. I took a deep breath and sighed. "Please?" I begged.
Then the next thing I said surprised me since I haven't said these next few words in such a long time: "I need you. I'm a mess with out you. I miss you. I love you," I whispered as a tear fell from my gloomy eyes. I shook my head and hung up.
Who am I kidding? She will never call back. She hates me too much. I feel like it's time to move on but a small part of me tells me not to. So much is on my mind that I can be strong for so long until I break. My heart is already broken and there is so much time until my mind breaks from missing her. I love someone who hates me.
A knock from the bedroom door interrupted my thoughts. I wiped my wet eyes with the ends of my shirt. "Coming," I murmured. I stood up and walked to the door, opening it to reveal the lads and Dylynn. Harry didn't look too happy. He looked enraged. His arms were crossed over his bare chest as he sulked. He stood behind Dylynn as he glared at her then at me. I knew he couldn't stand Dylynn. I started to chuckle then those chuckles turned into fits of laughter.
A real laugh that I haven't had in forever. A laugh when my eyes would almost be shut closed and the corner of my eyes would crinkle. The laugh where I couldn't catch my breath from laughing so hard. The laugh where joyful tears fell from my eyes and not sad ones. They looked at me like I was insane. I couldn't stop myself from laughing. I find it funny how much Harry doesn't like Dylynn. The way he sulks and gets irritated with her when she talks or is around is quite hilarious.
"What's so funny?" Dylynn asked. I shook my head as I continued to laugh. I clutched onto my stomach as I tried to catch my breath. I took deep breaths. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. They gave me one more weird look before Harry spoke, "Anyways. Are you ready to continue to look for Brooke?" "I thought you didn't want to look with us," I said. Confusion was shown from me. "I didn't," he said as he rolled his eyes at Dylynn then looked back at me. Of course she paid him no attention as she looked elsewhere. "But I decided, we should work together. I mean it's best right?" he said, sounding unsure.
A grinned formed across my lips as I pulled him in a hug, surprising him. He chuckled and hugged me back. "I am glad you're back and focused," I said as I pulled back from the hug. "We really need to stay focus," Niall muttered. "Too much stuff has happened and it hasn't even been a week in New York," Zayn said, shaking his head. "Yeah, tell me about it," Liam nodded. I nodded and pulled everyone in a hug, including Dylynn. Harry held a pain expression as he was pulled close to her. I chuckled and shook my head.
"She doesn't have to stay here for long, Harry. A few more days here in New York and we will be gone. No more pain expressions or glares," I whispered into his ear along with a small laugh. His eyes widen as he realized he has been caught. "Alright? Just hang in there," I said and I pat his back as we all pulled apart. "If I even can," he joked before walking away. I couldn't help but let a small smile fall on my face.
Something about today makes me feel that we are slowly recovering. That we are finally getting back to the way things were.
Our family is coming back and I promise it is. . . or so I thought. . .
