Never Leave You Chapter 1
*Tick* *Tick* *Tick*
The sound of the ticking clock was the only thing you could hear in the hallway. The lads and I sat in silence out front of the door that has Alfred Parker written on the door in bold black letters. I could feel and sense Harry's stare on me as I tried to avoid his stern gaze. He was still mad at me and it has been six months later after the incident.
I kept my head down and shifted uncomfortably in the plastic chairs. His gaze never left me which infuriated me. I rolled my eyes and looked up at him. "Do you have something to say, Harry?" I snapped. He smirked and shook his head. The lads looked at us, uncomfortably. The tension in the room increased and it was noticeable and you could feel it as well. Before anyone else could say anything the door opened revealing a tall man. He wore a black suit with a white undershirt and black tie. His hair was slightly gray and almost bald. He had stubble on his chin that was brown with strands of grary. He held a bore expression.
"You must be the One Direction Boys," he said in a monotone. The lads and I stood up and held our hands out to shake in a proper manner. When he wouldn't shake our hands we awkwardly pulled back our hands. "Come inside," he ushered. We shuffled past him into a huge conference room that held a huge dark, marble table and rotating chairs surrounding it. The walls were painted a dark navy blue and on it hung paintings of famous places.
Alfred walked around the table and to the end before taking a seat. He folded his hands in his lap as he eyed each of us. We stood in the middle of the room, not knowing what to do. "Well, are you going to sit?" he asked. "Oh right," we muttered. We scurried to a chair and sat down. Harry sat as far away from me in disgust. As far away he can. It didn't bother me that much since I'm used to it by now. I would sit down first then he'd go sit far away from me as possible.
"Is there a reason why you boys are here and not doing what you should be?" Alfred asked. The name plate in front of him read his name- Alfred Parker. "Yes Alfred-" "Call me Mr. Parker," he interrupted Liam. "Mr. Parker. . . We are actually here to talk to you about that sir," Liam nervously chuckled. Alfred raised an eyebrow motioning for Liam to continue. "Well you see. We actually need to postpone everything," Liam explained. "Postpone everything?" Alfred asked.
We hesitantly nodded. "For what?" he asked a as if he didn't believe us. "Well, my sister is missing and we need to look for her," Harry kindly explain. Knowing Harry you could tell he was a bit frustrated with the man who sat in front of all of us. He held a gaze that wasn't friendly or reached his tone of voice. "I'm sorry Harry. That is no excuse to postpone," Alfred humorously laughed. Harry furrowed his eyebrows together and pressed his lips together. "I'm sorry. Do I have to explain my self again? I said my sister is missing and we ARE going to look for her," Harry said as he began to raise his voice.
Niall nervously chuckled and scooted behind me. Zayn's eyes went wide at how Harry had the guts to raise his voice at our boss. Liam sat there, awkwardly. I was surprised at Harry, also. I mean I never thought he would raise his voice especially to someone important in the music business like Alfred.
"My sister is gone. I just found her for the first time and I am not losing her!" Harry yelled. Alfred was surprised at Harry's sudden outburst. Harry scooted back in his chair and stood up with his hands gripping the dark marble table. His knuckles were turning white at the tight hold he had. "I am not going to sit on my arse all day and not look for my sister. I will not do anything until I find my sister!" Harry yelled as he walked towards Alfred. Alfred nervously gulped as Harry's tall frame towered over him. Harry straighten his back and rolled his shoulders back. "Now, I will not listen to your bullshit!" Harry yelled. He bent down to Alfred's level. His eyes locked onto his. "Do I make myself clear?" Harry said through gritted teeth. Alfred nervously swallowed and nodded.
Harry smirked and stood straight up. "Great! Then there will be no problems," he seethed as he turned and walked out of the office, leaving all of us in a shock state. The door closed with a loud slam and the room fell silent. We looked at each other before we stood up. We turned and faced an open mouth Alfred. "Thank you Al- I mean Mr. Parker. We will be going now," Liam said with a nod.
We scurried out of the room and ran down the hall to find Harry. We were yelling his name but there was no response from him. People were sending us annoyed glances but we ignored them as we continued to look for Harry. We ran out of the back door of the main building as we called his name once again. We heard small audible sobs come from the end of the dark alley. The lads and I looked at each other before we ran after the sobs.
We reached the end to see Harry curled up in a ball as he laid on his side and cried. His muscular body shook from the heavy sobs. It was a sad sight to look at. We slowly walked towards him, not wanting to scare him. "Harry?" Zayn softly said. Harry only sniffled in response. We all let out a sigh as we bent down to comfort Harry. I didn't care if we weren't talking. He needed the comfort right now and I had to be his brother (best friend).
I rubbed his back and pushed his curls out of his face. "Harry," I whispered. He ignored me but sat up and engulfed me in a right hug, taking me by surprise. I caught my self from falling over. He sobbed on my shoulder as I rubbed his back. "It will be okay," I whispered. He took a deep breath and sobbed. The boys rubbed his back as he cried. "There is no hope," he sobbed. "Yes, there is Harry. We will find her," I said. I tried my best to get him to believe me.
We all knew that I wasn't too sure if we were going to find Brooke or not.
