"Wow." Jayden whispers to herself. I heard it anyway....like I always do. I smirk at her.
"I know right. Crazy." I look out the window and lean against it."Crazy." I whisper to myself. She takes a seat at my desk and I plop down on my bed, looking straight up to a white, bare ceiling.
"So how is life?"
"Jay.....you ask me that everytime I see you." She bolts up.
"Well I gotta know cause you barely text me or call me anymore!" She starts laughing and sits back down.
"Well that's because I've been doing stuff on my computer."
"Or you could use a better word and call it a laptop like normal people."
"I'm not normal." She gets up with the laptop in her hands and plops down next to me.
"What's the stuff you've been doing."
"I've been writing a song."
"Oh really.....the talented Jade is finally putting her talent to good use." I smirk.
"So when are you coming back to school." I blink. I completely forgot about school. I haven't been there in 2 months.
"I have no idea."
"You should come back soon then. The teachers are very happy that you aren't there."
"It would be a shame if I came back." We look at each other with that evil-smiling stare that we always do together. We laugh. There's a knock at the door.
"Hey Jade. Would you and Jayden like to come out back with me and the guys." I look at her and she nods, smiling.
"Sure...we will be there in a couple of minutes." I got to the bathroom and I grab 2 bathing suits, one for me and one for her. We both turn around and quickly change.
"Done?" I say turning around with my eyes closed.
"Ummmm.....yes." She puts her hands on her hips and poses.
"Nice." I say looking up and down her perfectly tan and skinny body.
"Thanks." I put my hand on the doorknob and turn around.
"Now, mind my 'uncles'." She smirks.
"Oh...i think I'll be fine with them." She winks and I roll my eyes, laughing.
"Your gross." She opens her mouth and puts her hands up in defense.
"Hey, I can't help that you have hot uncles, not to mention-" I put my finger up.
"Don't you dare say his name."
"Luuuuukkkkkkeeeee." I look up at with my 'I'm gonna get you later for that' face.
"And to think you used to think he was hot." I roll my eyes at her. She thought or still thinks he was hot too!
"Yeah yeah." I open the door and we walk outside. It's about 100° today so it's a good day to go swimming. It's crazy that I've lived her for almost 2 months and I haven't even thought about the backyard.
"Hey there you are." Uncle Ash comes over and wraps his arm around me. He looks over at Jayden, who's standing there blushing.
"I don't think we've officially met. My name is Ashton." He holds his hand out. He places her hand in his and shakes it. I could totally she was trying to be cute and trust me....it was working. They let go and Ashton ran off with Michael and Luke.
"Jayden and Jade, come here!" My hand ushers us over with his hand. I grab Jayden hand and I take her over. She's still so shocked. It's funny.
"Hey. This backyard is huge."
"If you think about it, not really." I out my hand on my chest.
"Well from my perspective, it is." I look over and see a volleyball net. Jayden and I both look at each other with our mouths wide open.
"NO WAY!" I yell and we both run to the net.
"Hey Michael, do you have a volleyball?!" He shakes his head yes and runs to a bin. He picks up a white and blue striped volleyball and everyone runs toward us.
"I have an idea. How about we play one game." Jayden and I look at each other, smirking.
"Okay.......but I have to warn you, we are pretty good at what we do."
"And what do you do?" Calum asked as he walk towards us.
"Volleyball." I run over to the net and I wave everyone to come on.
On my team it was Jayden, me and Calum. The other team was Ashton, Michael, and Luke. I threw the ball up and hit it as hard as I could. Everyone on the other team missed the ball which really puzzled me cause they are really tall, especially Luke. The game finally ended 25-2.
"Wow....how...how are you so good?" Luke says hunched over, out of breathe. Jayden and I walk up to to. Jayden places her hand on her hips and I cross my arms over my chest.
"Practice. Lots of practice." Jayden says.
"Oh and we aren't just good at that. Jade is the champion in Lacrosse, dancing and others." Calum and the rest other the guys stare at us with shocked faces. Jayden and I laugh. Ashton's turns to confusion.
"What's Lacrosse." We stop mid-laugh.
"Lacrosse just so happens to be the coolest game ever." I say.
"One day, you'll be able to come to our games. We make a pretty good team." Jayden and I high-five.
"Who wants to go swimming?!" Michael yells and all the guys run and jump into the pool. Calum, Jayden and I just watch them. He puts his arm around my shoulder.
I feel safe in his arms, like I belong there. It's that part that I've missed almost all of my childhood.
"Speaking of water, I gotta go." Jayden whispers to me and starts to do her cute, funny little potty dance. I love it.
"When you walk down the hallway, it's second door to your left."
"Okay great." She yells and runs into the house so quick.
"We make a pretty good team." Calum says quietly.
"We do." He shakes me. I can't help but laugh. I look up at him and I see this smile that I barely see. It's the best smile I've ever seen. It makes me feel happy inside.
