I heard a sudden laugh, and next saw another hobbit running towards us.
“Mr. Frodo is not going anywhere without me.”
He said, quite stubborn. Lord Elrond smiled lightly.
“No, it would seem it is hardly possible to separate you, even when he is summoned to a secret council and you are not.”
He said, and had yet another surprise in stall for him, as a voice yelled and two more hobbits came running.
“We’re coming too!”
One of them said, as they ran up to stand beside Frodo.
“You would have to tie us up in a sack to stop us.”
He said, quite sure of himself. I could not help it and smiled at the hobbits bravery.
“Anyways, you need people off intelligence on this sort of… mission. Quest. Thing.”
He said, making a fool of himself. I smiled even more, and placed my hands on his shoulders.
“Well that rules you out, Pip.”
The other hobbit mocked him, making fun of his stumble with words. Lord Elrond looked at us, one by one, seeing that we all meant it each and every one.
“Ten companies. So be it. You shall be the fellowship of the ring.”
Lord Elrond said, slightly nodding to himself.
Pip said, sounding quite proud of himself.
“Where are we going?”
He asked. His friend giving him a hard stare.
“Just a joke.”
He mumbled under his breath, indicating that it was defiantly not a joke. He had just seen an opportunity to go on an adventure. Just like another Hobbit I knew.
“You are quite brave, my dear hobbits.”
I said to the two. Pip turned red.
“Ignore him. I’m Meriadoc Brandybuck, but you may call me Merry. Everyone does.”
He said, smiling nervously, as he pushed his friend hard in the ribs.
“Peregrin Took, but you can call me Pippin or Pip for short if you like.”
He said quite nervous and getting increasingly more red in the face, as he looked at me. I nodded.
“I am Vanya.”
I said, not being able to introduce myself as the daughter of anyone. The two hobbits nodded, and was about to say some more, when Legolas stepped in between.
“May I have a word with you?”
He asked, sounding quite calm. I knew him better than that, he was furious and his anger was increasing with the minute. Despite of that I nodded.
