As Bilbo left to rest, I came to wonder what he was doing in Rivendell. Gandalf as well. Even Legolas and the human that had encouraged me to sing a song. Something was going on.
“Gandalf, what is this all about?”
I asked, looking towards him. His smile disappeared, whatever it was, it was something bad.
The human answered. It did not seem like he wanted to say more.
I asked wondering. Gandalf looked at me in chock.
“How do you know of it?”
He asked and seemed to be quite upset.
“I… I played with it as a child.”
I answered, wondering what was so interesting about an old ring. Gandalf walked towards me and grapped my hands.
“Did you ever put it on?”
He asked, and was quite upset. It scared me.
“Did you ever put it on?!”
He asked again, looking at my hands like he was looking for something.
I answered, wondering yet again what this was about. Gandalf looked me straight in the eyes.
“No. I only played with it. I never put it on.”
I answered in a firm voice. Gandalf looked relived. Then he noticed the healing bruises on my wrist.
“I thought you said he never hurt you?”
Gandalf asked. He could easily guess who had done it. I pulled my hands away from him, when I became aware of everyone staring at them.
“Did you notice anything unusual about the ring?”
Lord Elrond asked. I shook my head.
“Were you ever tempted to put it on?”
Gandalf asked, again I shook my head.
“Bilbo told me not to, so I did not.”
“It would seem that you are to attend the council meeting later today.”
Lord Elrond said. I did not understand. What meeting? Gandalf looked at Lord Elrond, as in disbelief.
“Arwen, take Vanya back to her room and prepare her for the meeting.”
Lord Elrond asked the beautiful elf. She nodded.
She replied, and showed me the way. Behind me I could hear Gandalf talking to Elrond in an upset voice, but I could not hear what he said.
