2. "But I couldn't"
I walked outside to my gang pulling out my cigarettes. "So you talked to that new girl huh?" Toby winked. I looked at him a smirk planted on my lips, "yeah.." "So did ya kiss?" Liam asked taking another drag on his cigarette. I shook my head, "no man.. She is a nerd.." "But she has an ass though" Bruce added. I nodded in agreement taking another drag on my cigarette. "I'll bet 50$ that you can sleep with her within a week" Toby nodded towards me. "No no no man.. I don't do stuff like that.. What about Liam?" I shook my head. "Okay Liam.. You're in?" Toby smirked. Liam shrugged, "why not?" "I bet 100$ that he can't sleep with Jasmine within a week" I chuckled. I didn't want him to use Sophie like that. "That's a deal.." Liam exclaimed shaking my hand. "Okay and it starts tomorrow and you have to do it before Saturday otherwise it won't count" I explained dragging on my cigarette again. "Okay man I'll sleep with her tomorrow then" Liam smirked and patted my back. I chuckled along with the other guys, "yeah right.."
When school was over, me and my gang split up and when they were gone I saw Sophie. "Hey do you want somebody to talk to on your way home?" I ran over to her. "Um yes.. I-I mean only if you w-want to" she said nervously. I smiled, "then let's go.."
"I'm really sorry if I do something to you in school that I shouldn't be doing okay? It's my gang you know" I said apologetically. She nodded shyly looking at the ground. "So where are you from in England?" I asked. "London" her accent making my knees go weak. "Cool I've always wanted to go there" I exclaimed, "So what are ya parents doing?" "My farther is a physicist and my mother is a math teacher in collage... What about yours?" she smiled the sweet smile of hers. "Cool.. Um my mom is working in a store and my dad.. Um... I don't know.. Maybe a garbageman somewhere in Canada" I glanced at her, trying to hide my embarrassment. "I am sure they are so much more fun than my parents" she let out a small laugh. I shrugged, "don't know.. I barely see them.. I barely see my mom and my dad is never there... He told my mom that he had to do something and then he never came back you know.." "I'm sorry about that" she looked down.
Then she suddenly pointed at a house, "this is my house.." It was so clean and the garden was perfectly made. The trees not having a single leaf in difference. The bushes cut perfectly even. The grass was probably fake. The flowers were lined up in straight lines. The blue, the red, the purple and so on. A path made of stones leaded to the front door and stones separating the grass and the path. "Wow... Was this made by a perfectionist or something? Or do you just have a really good gardener?" I asked amazed. She giggled, "I guess both.." "Cool... Well I guess I'll see ya tomorrow" I smiled. She took some hair behind her ear smiling, "yes bye.."
"Aye bro" I heard a voice from behind. I was on my way to school on my skateboard. I stopped and turned around, "sup man." It was Bruce. "You don't live in this neighborhood?" I winked, "did you get some yesterday?" He smirked, "for sure.." "Who?" "Alexandra" he smirked dragging on his cigarette. "No way.. The one with the tits?" I asked pulling out my cigarettes. He nodded, "she is so twisted around my little finger.." I patted his shoulder chuckling, "so are you gonna keep her or dumb her?" "I don't know bro.." he shrugged, "but I can't stick to one girl.. I've never understood how you can do that?" "It's not that hard bro" I said dragging on my cigarette. "I don't know about that.." "I can only stick to one girl if she's satisfying my needs you know" I smirked. "Yeah.. But none of these girls are" he said.
Sophie was sitting at a table at lunch with a book and headphones. I couldn't say hi to her because my gang would think I was crazy to talk to a geek like her. I just thought she is wonderful. I just had to ignore her and laugh when the others laughed. Even if it was of her. I couldn't apologize. I didn't want to be known as the sweet nerdy guy that helped everyone. I'd rather be known as the cold bad boy who had a lot of girls running after him. But if I had to be with her I had to be the sweet guy. As the days went by everyone began bullying her and I was a part of it. I felt so bad. She didn't want to talk to me. She pushed me away. She pushed everyone away. I just wanted to hug her and tell her that everything was gonna be alright. But I couldn't.
