"Why are you taking me to Dumbledore?" I ask, while Mcgonagall and Snape practically drag me through the hallways, each pulling on one of my hands.
"He will explain everything." Snape says in a creepy voice. I mean, his regular voice, but that's pretty much the same thing.
"Why can't you tell me!" I exclaim, getting impatient.
We walk right up to the statues in front of the doors and Mcgonagall leans over so her face is level with the statue and whispers so soft that it is barely audible and so that she thinks I can't hear- which I can- "Sherbert Lemon" and the statues move apart, revealing the door to the office. Professor Mcgonagall opens the door and I start to walk in but she stops me, informing me "I think it would be better for you to wait out here for now." And I nod my head and take a step back. Whatever they saw inside my brain must have been very important. I try to bring back up all of the memories that they look at. I cant seem to remember all of them though. I am forced out of my thoughts when Snape opens the door and tells me to walk in.
"Sit down Miss Paige. I think you are quite curious to as why you have been taken here."
I take a seat and whisper, "Bloody hell I am." to myself, but Dumbledore hears this and chuckles.
"What is it that you think I want to tell you Madison?" Dumbledore asks. I wince at my full name because no one has called me that in forever.
" I don't know. Honestly I have no clue." I reply nervously.
Dumbledore sighs, "Well, your parents in America. What are their names."
Easy. I know that. But why would Dumbledore be interested in that. "Camille and Jack Paige."
Mcgonagall shoots me an almost sympathetic look right then.
"What I called you when you first came in. It isn't quite fitting." Dumbledore says.
"You called me Miss Paige." I frown.
Dumbledore looks pleased that I remembered, "And that, is not your name."
"Your name isnt Madison Paige." Dumbledore informs me.
"Im not following." I say, completely disraught.
"What? Her full name is changed too?" My head of house acts.
"As far as I'm aware, yes. Call Remus."
Remus. Remus Lupin. I sigh, he is my favorite teacher. According to Hermione, he is also the only DADA teacher they have had who is capable of teaching.
Snape, on the other hand, isn't so happy to hear Lupins name, "Albus we dont need him to-"
"Yes we do, and you are fully aware of that." Dumbledore overrides.
While this was happening, Mcgonagall was Floo messaging Lupin, and suddenly he appeared in the room.
"Yes headmaster? You needed somethin-" He cut himself off when he saw me.
"What is she doing here?" Lupin asks Dumbledore. Clearly, he had not been in the Great Hall. Dumbledore walks over to Lupin and they exchanged serious whispers.
I caught a few words of what they were saying, such as "he named" or "i cant just ask her" and finally Lupin said, "Dumbledore. I havent spoken to her since James and Lily. I can't just go around poking into her life."
"But that isnt the question. Do you know what they named her?" Dumbledore scolds.
Lupin sighs, "Lynx. Middle name is her mothers last time I heard. Last name is Black."
"Who are my parents?!" I demand.
Dumbledore sighs in admission, "Sirius and, well we don't know who your mother is."
I could sense he was lying about my mother, I heard them talking about her moments ago, but I left that subject alone because something else was on my mind, "Sirius Black? Why have I heard that name before."
"Because he is a known criminal and just escaped from Azkaban. Anyway, you were able to perform quite a bit of magic in the Great Hall. You seem to be a witch. Try these wands."
After trying a dozen wands I finally found one. "11 inches, Elm wood, and a phoenix feather. Time to go back to your dormitory. and Lynx? If you want to go by your old name for awhile, you are welcome to do so."
