1. life story
"Maddie can you run to the grocery store?" My older brother Jacob asks. Jacob, I just came home from school, I'm not in the mood! "Oh come on you couldn't just do one small favor for me?" I grabbed the keys and walked out of the house slamming the door behind me. I figured that I would just do one simple favor for Jacob because I really do owe it to him. When I was twelve years of age my parents passed away, well they were more like killed. My mother and my father went to the mall that day because it was my birthday. I was in my favorite store at the time called Claire's while my parents were buying some food for me. Happy little me was picking out some new earrings and then it happened, five gun shots went off. The whole mall was in lock down and all I could think about was my mom and dad. I was praying to god that they would be okay, but I guess god wasn't able to hear my prayer. Not only did I lose my parents that day but my relationship with god was interfered with as well. Hours went by, and all I could see out of the corner of my eye was groups of armed men searching the mall. Most likely for the suspect of the shooting. Later that day I was taken home by a police officer. He explained what happened to my brother who was eighteen at the time. I can just remember the moment when the cringing words came out of the officers mouth. "Your parents are dead." I was still in shock. I wouldn't allow myself to believe it. I couldn't believe it. I didn't shed one tear that night even though I was torn inside. My brother sat on the couch with his head in his lap. He was trying to look alright so that I wouldn't loose it too. I will never forget the night. Now enough with my life story, I better get to the grocery store.
