I finally decided to pull out my phone after a few minutes of walking. My mom was telling me to stay where ever I was and call the police. My dad found where we live and is close to getting into the house. I called the police and ran back to the park. Matt was still sitting on the bench. He was texting someone.
"Matt!" I exclaimed.
He turned around and got off the bench. I ran to him.
"My dad is going to kill my mom and then find me! You have to help me hide from him!"
Matt grabbed my hand and we ran to his house. It was about ten blocks from my new house.
"Hurry! My sister will lend you some clothes and get new clothes for you. I promise he will never find you."
Matthew opened the door and quickly shut it. He locked it and called for his sister and mother.
"Matthew. What is going on?" His mom asked.
"Matt? Why are you yelling?" His sister said.
"We have to help Emerson!" Matthew responded.
"Who's Emerson?" His mom bounced back.
That's when his mom and sister saw me. His mom engulfed me into a hug, and she rubbed my back.
"Why does Emerson need to stay here?" His sister asked.
"Her dad's crazy and I think already killed her mom. He's after her. He thinks that they both don't need to live and when she was five, he cracked or something. Her mom and her have been running ever since."
By this time I was crying. Matthew's mom was rubbing my back and everything. She felt like a real mom that my mom kind of had been like for the past thirteen years.
"Emerson, let's get you to your room." (Matts mom)
"Mom, where will she be staying?" (Matt's sister)
"Kristen, can she share a room with you? Please?"
"Yes! Of course!"
Kristen led me to her room. It was pretty big and she had her own bathroom attach to it. I'm technically an adult, but I can't go out on my own with my dad killing again.
