6. Chapter 5

The door opened and out came Violet, I felt this feeling inside that was mixed between anger and hurt. Jealously. Why is Violet here?  The feeling bubbled up inside me filling me from head to toe; I took a deep breath and as I tried to push it aside.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. My voice was thick with anger and I barely even tried to hide it.

She lifted her left eyebrow up and crossed her arms, "I could ask you the same thing."

"I'm here to talk to Morgan."  I replied also crossing my arms in the process

She eyed me up and down, she then uncrossed her arms. She then stepped aside "Come in."

I walked in the door and pushed her shoulder with mine as I walked by. Violet closed the door and looked at me. "Follow me we were just in her room-"

"I know where her room is Violet, I don't need a guide," I spat while rolling my eyes. "I have been here many times before you know, since I am her best friend."

I walked off leaving her behind. I don't know why I was so mean to Violet back there, there is  just something about her I don't like. I began to pace up the stairs as I headed  towards Morgan room. In the distance I could hear Violet following close behind.

I opened Morgan door to see her lying down on her unmade bed. Her room was a mess as always, with clothes and shoes thrown carelessly on the ground. That's what different between Morgan and I, I actually take care of and clean my room. But that's just me, I am kind of a clean freak after all.

Morgan was playing some game on her phone. Not even aware that I was in her pig-slob of a room. Deciding to not say anything I simply strolled towards her bed and sat down; deciding that she can notice me on her own.

Noticing the weight change Morgan finally looked up from her phone and saw me. Her eyes widened while her face became clouded in confusion and puzzlement.

"What are you doing here?" she asked in confusion as she placed her phone down on her nightstand.

"She wanted to talk to you." answered Violet before I could open my mouth to speak.

I looked at Violet as she walked into the room and grabbed her bookbag. "I got to go, my mom wants me to go to the store and pick up some groceries. See you Monday, Morgan." she announced. Violet then gave me a dirty look me and rolled her eyes as she walked out the room.

"Bítch." I muttered to myself as she closed the bedroom door.

I looked over at Morgan and gave her a small smile. Morgan gave me a scowled look in return as she jumped off her bed.

"Why do you need to talk to me?" asked Morgan as she leaned against her wooden dresser.

"Why do you think?" I finally snapped. I'm tired of her acting like this. "You been acting like you hate me all day and I have no idea why! It's extremely annoying and frustrating."

Morgan eyes widen shocked at my sudden burst of anger.  She looked down at her carpet and in crossed her arms. I sighed as I got off the bed and stood in front of her. I couldn't help but feel guilty for snapping at her.

"I'm sorry... I-I didn't mean to snap at you."

Morgan looked up and stared up at me in the eye. I could see guilt written all over her face. Suddenly I felt a pair of arms around me. It took me a second to realize it was Morgan's. I then wrapped my arms around her as Morgan placed her head on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry Iris," I could hear the tears in her voice as she continued to speak. "It's just I- I found out something and I don't know how you would take it."

Morgan soon unwrapped her arms around me and sat back on the bed looking into her lap. I followed her and sat back down on her bed. Morgan still didn't look up when I sat down.

"What do you mean you found out something and you don't know how I would handle it?" I asked confused,  "Morgan whatever you have to say doesn't matter; you'll still be my best friend."

Morgan continued to stare into her lap. She bit her lip which she always does when she's thinking about something. After a minute or 2 of complete silence Morgan took her eyes off her lap and looked into mine.

"Iris..." Morgan trailed; she then looked past me for a second and took a deep breath. Few moments later she looked back at me.

Morgan opened her mouth to speak but before she could let out one word the door slammed open. Morgan and I both tore our eyes off each other and looked up to see Morgan's 12 year old brother, Matt.

"Mom wants you." Matt told Morgan in a dull tone.

He looked just like Morgan with their brown hair and capturing grey eyes. Only difference between the two is that Matt has a few freckles on his face while Morgan doesn't. Plus Morgan has natural wavy hair while Matt's is just plain straight.

"What for?" Morgan sighed in annoyances while she rolled her eyes in the process.

"She wanted to let you know of something," he shrugged "oh, and hi Iris."

I gave Matt a small smile and waved. Matt soon left, leaving an awkward and tensed silence between Morgan and me once again.

"I better go see what my mom wants. I'll be right back." grunted Morgan as she got up from her bed. She then left the room leaving me alone with my thoughts wondering, on what she was just about to tell me.
