4. If You Don't Know.
-Ashton’s POV –
Lying in my bunk all I could hear was the rising and falling of my own chest and slight snoring coming from Michaels bunk. I stared at the red curtain that cut me off from the rest of the bus, everything I had known ended in the space of thirty seconds and I really don’t know how I feel about that. I replayed everything in my mind trying to figure where it all went wrong, when she started to let go it all lead to a month into the tour. When did a text message or phone call not become enough? Did she not understand that it was hard for me too?
I walked through the small corridor of the tour bus towards the tiny kitchen, grabbing a beer from the fridge I flicked open the cap and took a swig. Walking towards the table I stubbed my toe “Fuck, shit, bollocks” I cursed grabbing my foot and jumping around. Sliding into the booth a light switched on and I mental cursed to myself again for waking up the figure.
“Couldn’t sleep?” It was 12:00am our adrenaline rushes had fallen and everyone was sound asleep apart from myself and Luke. “Nah some idiot was cursing and it woke me up” I let out a chuckle while sipping my beer “Sorry man, stubbed my toe” I pointed towards the edge of the table where the incident had occurred, Luke opened the fridge and it lit the whole room grabbing another beer he slid in next to me “So why are you awake?” a look of concern was flashed my way “Alexa” Alexa and Luke are best mates, that’s how I met her we were at a lame party and Luke was hitting on her but she wasn’t having any of it so I stepped in. “Yeah? What about her?” I swallowed the lump in my throat; I didn’t fancy recalling the last four hours of pain. “Urhh, It’s over” I nodded to myself slowly taking a slow sip of beer the taste lingering in my mouth “What? What the fuck happened?” Luke looked completely shocked swigging his can. “I’ve been losing her for months let’s face it. Today’s just proved that. I hate that she’s without me, she hates that she’s not with me, Luke it kills me thinking of her on her own. We just ran out of time.” I ran my hands threw my hair pulling it from my face, Luke just sat and looked at me with sadness in his eyes “Dude, you didn’t run out of time, this is just a hurdle in your relationship with each other I’ve seen the way you both look at each other, that’s love bro. Things will work out I promise” I prayed that every word he said was true “Right I’m off to bed, get some sleep and try and cheer up” He grabbed his beer drinking the last sip before tossing it into the trash. “Alright, thanks Luke”.
