"Well look who showed up." Becca retorted as I walked into our dance team's dressing room.
"Don't worry, you won't have to compete against me today." I rolled my eyes.
"That's fine, I would have won anyways." She smirked then turned around to continue getting ready for her solo. I shook my head. I have to do this. I nodded my head and rushed out to my car. I pulled out my costume bag and makeup box and limped my way back inside.
"Watch out." I groaned after someone ran into me.
"Elizabeth." It was Harry.
"What?" I snapped.
"Are you dancing? What about your ankle?" He actually sounded concerned.
"I'm sorry, I can't do this right now. I need to go get ready." I stated and turned around.
"Be careful." he called after me. I turned around and smiled at him for the first time.
I rushed into the dressing and pulled out my makeup box and started doing my hair. I pulled two side pieces to the back and tied it then pinned it down and secured it with hair spray. Then I started my makeup.
"What the hell are you doing?" Dani scorned as she walked into the room.
"I'm getting ready for my solo." snapped as I applied foundation and then blush.
"I told you Elizabeth. You're too hurt to dance." She raised her voice.
"I don't care. I need to beat Becca. I'm just going to reverse every step onto my other leg." I snapped continuing too do my makeup.
"I can't allow you to do this." She states.
"Well you can't stop me either." I retorted, then applied some lipstick and went to put on my costume. As soon as I slipped it on, Dani walked up to me.
"Can you even land your left arial?" She asked sounding concerned. I sighed.
"I guess we'll find out." I stated then walked out of the dressing room to the stage entrance.
"Get ready to loose." Becca snorted before she went on stage and performed.
I watched her intently as she danced. Don't get me wrong she was good but she was no where near as flexible as I am, and she falls out of her turns a lot.
The crowd clapped as she strutted off stage. I just rolled my eyes. Finally I was announced to go on stage.
'Now welcome number 153, Give Me Love. Please welcome Elizabeth Phillips!' The announced introduced me. I strutted on stage and held my first position. Then it all began. I danced through half of my routine before I had to attempt my arial. Here goes nothing.
I landed it! My ankle is killing me now but I landed it. I managed to get through the rest of my dance without showing the pain I was in. At least I hope I didn't look injured. The crowd roared with applause, I could see Dani standing and clapping. One Direction was behind her. I could see the smile and relief of Harry's face. I exited the stage, trying not to limp. Once I was off I limped, but mainly hopped out into the hallway. I saw Dani she had a smile on her face and the guys were behind her as well, smiling too.
"Amazing job!" Dani said engulfing me in a hug.
"Thanks. I can't walk now. But thanks." I smiled through the pain of my ankle.
"Here let me help." Harry stated before picking me up bridal style. I giggled and shook my head laughing at him.
He carried me all the way to the dressing room.
"I kinda have to let you down here." He chuckled. I nodded and carefully stood up.
"Thanks. I'll be right back. I'm gonna go get my jacket and I'll be back." I smiled then limped into the dressing room.
Becca glared at me as I walked in. I went over to my area where my things were.
"I see you're flirting with Harry." Becca snarled.
"No. I'm not. We're just friends. And why does it matter to you?" I snapped. Pulling on my dance team warm up jacket.
"It's just surprising. A lad like him, taken an interest in an ugly girl like you." She smirked laughing.
I just rolled my eyes and started to walk out of the dressing room. When I went to open the door I caught a glimse of myself in a mirror. I stopped and took a better look.
Maybe Becca was right. Why would Harry even like me? I'm not pretty. Especially not compared to the thousands of girls throughing themselves at him. I shook it out of my mind. I didn't like him anyways. Right?
