10. Chapter: 9- Hope For Payton
Once we got to the Venue the boys were sent into sound check and I got to watch which was so cool. There were four girls that won a contest so they got to see them early. After sound check the boys were sent to wardrobe. I talked to the girls and they were really nice. They weren’t rude and jealous fans but they were the supportive ones.
There are four types of fans, the ones that watch from behind the computer, supportive fans that support the boys no matter what, the crazy obsessive fans and then the stalker fans that camp outside their hotel room. I fall into the supportive fans.
Once the boys were all ready I got to hang out with them for about ten minutes before it was time for their concert. They started the concert with Midnight Memories and ended with What Makes You Beautiful.
When I thought they were done the screen above them turned on and had words on it that I couldn’t see because I was on the side of the stage. “Hey everybody!” Louis yells in the microphone. Screams fill the venue and I thought I was going to become deaf.
“If you don’t know we had a interview with a very amazing and strong girl, her name is Payton Reynolds. She was diagnosed with Melanoma, which is a type of skin cancer that can kill you, but some are lucky enough to survive. Each cancer patient gets a wish from a cancer foundation called The Wish Foundation. She used her wish to meet the boys and I.” Harry says and realization hits me and I realize that there talking about me.
“We were honored to meet such an amazing girl. The boys and I wanted to do something for her to show her that no matter what we support her and all cancer patient and we came up with an idea to help get money, for research and help them find ways to cure this skin cancer. SO I’d like you all to meet Payton.” Niall tells the crowd.
Someone backstage pushes me on stage and the boys walk over and Louis puts his arm around my shoulders and steers us towards the center of the stage. Tons of girls are screaming and its not hate or anything bad its cheering. “Well we got bracelets made that will be sold for two dollars in US money and it will be sold to many more places than North America.” Liam says and the boys all point to the screen and a big picture of a bracelet comes on and it says Hope For Payton. It’s a pink bracelet with black lettering.
Girls scream loudly and I smile gratefully at the boys. I hug Louis who is standing right next to me, and soon all of the boys are joining the hug. “On your way out there will be tables set out and I speak for Payton and the boys and I if you bought a bracelet and show your support for the cause. If you don’t buy it now you can go online to HopeForPayton.com and order on there.” Zayn tells the crowd.
“GOOD NIGHT NEW YORK!” The boys yell and we head backstage.
