A/N: three chapters left! Getting to the end pretty soon! Most likely will post the rest of the chapters this coming week.
I wake up to the sun seeping through the blinds. I slowly prop myself on my elbow closing the blinds. I rub my eyes sitting up at the edge of my bed looking down at my feet. Another day of absolutely nothing.
I dress out of my sleepwear throwing on a shirt and a pair of pants. After taking my time to wash up, I walk over to my kitchen grabbing a bowl, a cereal box, and the gallon of milk in my fridge. I serve myself, then sitting on the couch just outside of the kitchen. Turning the TV on, I flip through various channels. Nope, nope, nothing.
A knock was heard at my door. I look back at it, waiting to see if I hear another knock. Just then, a knock was heard again as seconds passed. I place my bowl of cereal on the coffee table walking over to the door. I slowly open it peeking my head out to see someone there.
"Lucas?" My sleepiness suddenly wears off as I meet eyes with the person I used to know.
"Meghan?" I look up and down at her in shock. "What are you doing here? I thought that, well, you know." I shrug.
"Uh, well, I uh. Well you see, I came to- oh for heaven sakes, do you want to go get some coffee or something?" She asks.
"Sure I guess. I don't have any plans." I nod. "Why don't you come on in?" I back away from the door letting her in. She walks pass me looking around my apartment.
"Nice place you got, Lucas." She smiles.
"Thanks, but I bet yours is-"
"It's not, really. My place I mean of course." She turns back to me.
"Meghan, look at this life you're living! You make thousands of dollars and live in a mansion! I live in this dump!" I shout. She jumps at my shouting. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound rude."
"It's fine." She looks away walking towards a photo on a shelf. She picks it up taking a good look at it. "You still have this picture of us?" A small smile appears on her face.
"Yeah," I rub the back of my neck weakly smiling, "I just missed those days. We wrote songs, made music videos, and toured until 'the day' you shined in their eyes," I muttered.
"I just shine as money now. I was never good as I thought I was after a while."
"What do you mean?" I raise an eyebrow.
Her eyes trailed up to me once again. "They pretty much auto tuned my voice in my past singles I've done. It's doesn't even sound like my own voice." She sighs.
"Well they must be stupid. You have such an amazing voice." I smile at her. She returns one back, placing the picture back on the shelf.
"Thanks Lucas. Now c'mon, we should start heading out before the city gets busy. We'll take my car." I nod in response grabbing my wallet and jacket. I lastly grab my keys walking out the door as Meghan followed behind.
"Where to?" I ask, hopping in the passengers seat.
"Where ever you'd like. My treat." She smiles as she steps in.
"How about that place we always went to have meetings at?"
"Sure!" We soon take off to the city.
"So Lucas, I actually didn't only come to visit you after two years," she trails off looking to her side.
"Uh, so what's this about?" I ask.
"So, I'm thinking about getting a new manager, but this is not a manager for actresses or models. He's a music producer and is teamed up with Syco Entertainment. He's know as Simon Cowell." She smiles.
"Wait, the Simon Cowell?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Yes! I've been working and hanging out with the boys from One Direction for like the past two months. I had a meeting with Simon about a week ago and I talked to him about getting more serious in the music industry."
"So what does this have to do with me?"
"Well, one of the members from One Direction, Niall, showed Simon the outro song from my vlogs. Simon surprising liked it. He said he could probably make a deal with my managers to switch over to him if I were to make a song with you."
"Why would you want to switch managers?"
She slumps down in her chair sighing. "Because they're using my fame for money, and one of my managers is abusive to me."
"They abuse you? How come?"
"Because I don't want to do anything they say."
"That's not cool. So Simon knows about what's going on?" She nods in response.
"Simon and two guys from the band only know and now you do too."
"So all you have to do is prove to Simon you could be a singer?"
"And that I could write a song, but I need your help Lucas. Simon liked the song you wrote for my outro. We need to write a song together, but you're also going to be my partner. We could make an album together!"
"Get into the music business, huh?" I smile at the thought.
"So are you in?"
"You got yourself a deal, Meghan." I shake hands with her.
