"What a great video we did together!" Joey smiles at me, playfully slapping my shoulder.
"It's was so fun collaborating with you once again!" I beam.
"I'm glad Jesse called me over to collaborate with you! I missed hanging out with you like old times."
I put my camera away getting the rest of my things together. I glance over at Joey as he looked through his camera. He must be looking through the footage. I walk over to him peeking over his shoulder.
"Watcha got there Joey?" I ask.
"Just some memories of us." He keeps his eyes glued on the screen speaking.
A monster like sound comes from my stomach interrupting the silence. I wrap my arms around my stomach looking over at Joey. "I must be hungry." I giggle.
"Let's go get something to eat then." He protests, throwing his bag over his shoulder walking ahead of me. I follow behind him to his car hopping in. As he turns the car on his radio goes off.
Haha! Thank you Dan! And the next song we are playing on our list is "Live While We're Young" by pop sensation, British boy-band One Direction!
The song starts off with a quick second tune before Liam starts to sing.
Hey girl, I'm waitin' on ya, I'm waitin' on ya
Come on and let me sneak you out
And have a celebration, a celebration
The music up, the windows down
"So...do you like the guys?" I ask.
"Who?" Joey furrows his brows at me.
"One Direction, I mean. Do you?" I turn to face him.
"Well, not really. I give them respect and all, but no I'm not very fond of them. They're....annoying. I can't stand their songs." He shakes his head with his eyes still on the road.
"I think they're pretty cool. Their songs are catchy and good. I do have some of their songs on my phone."
"Really?" He chuckles. "I never expected you to like their music."
"Well I used to find their songs annoying, but I like their songs now. So I guess I could say I like them." I shrug smiling.
Yeah, we'll keep doing what we do
Joey stretches his arm our turning the radio off. I look over at him confused.
"I guess you don't like their music." I breathe out a chuckle.
"Uh, yeah sure." He glances my way, then looking straight ahead again at the road.
"Are you okay, Joey?" I ask, still staring at him.
"Yeah? Why?" He knits his eyebrows together.
"It was just....never mind." I shake my head.
"Alright then." He shrugs.
We arrive at a little restaurant being seated outside. I look over the menu deciding what to get. Salmon? Nah. Fettuccine alfredo? Hmmm...that sounds good. We order our food, as the waitress jots it down. Once we're done, she walks off.
"So...how are the others?" I break the silence.
"Good I guess. Nothing much has been happening." He takes a sip of his drink shrugging.
"I seen that you guys had a surprise party for Jenn." I mutter.
"It was fun. Everyone from Andrea to Connor were there. She was surprised to see everyone that day." He smiles.
"That must of been nice." I rest my chin on my hand gazing up at the sky.
"So anyways, what's going on with you?"
"Oh, well I'm collaborating with the boys on writing music and other stuff also. It's been fun. Niall's been helping me with writing-"
"What other stuff? Like touring with them?" He asks interrupting me.
"No, not touring just like photo shoots and making videos together. Back to I was saying, Niall has been helping me out-"
"The appetizer is here! Good! I'm starting to get hungry!" I turn in the direction he was pointing to see a waitress walking towards us. She places our salads in front of us asking if we needed anything else. We shake our heads signaling for her to leave.
"So what were you saying Meghan?" My eyes shoot up at him with a confused look on his face.
"Oh, well Niall has been helping me write music." I simply answer.
"But you write great music! You don't need music that sounds like theirs." He scrunches his nose shaking his head.
"My music isn't great. It's too....childish."
"No it's not! If anything, I think their music is childish!"
"Joey, I'm sorry, but can you just keep the level down on talking about their music? I might not be close to them, but talking behind their backs isn't right to me. I respect them." I say in almost a whisper.
"You're right. I shouldn't be. I'm sorry Meghan." He runs his hand through his hair looking down.
"It's fine. I know you have your opinion on their music, but I don't like hearing bad things about people that I hangout with." I sigh setting my fork on the plate filled with salad.
