The Reststop and the Seraphim

I've always been more of a lover than a fighter, but that didn't stop me from being a hunter. The need to keep other people safe from the monsters that could quite literally be under their beds drove me to where I am today. I am known for my extensive knowledge of demons and angels. I have become a place of solitude and peace for fellow hunters. My story isn't all that happy but I make the most of it.

It's all been downhill since Castiel fell. The angels have started fighting against the demons and more importantly, themselves. We the Seraphim, Guardians of Gods Throne, Angels of Light, Love, and Fire, have left heaven to protect Gods Throne in places far from Heaven. I am young, just a "fledgling" they call me, but I'm determined to prove them wrong.

10. The Impala

I juggle the small, glowing light in my hand as I sit outside of my church. Castiel is beside me. Sam, Dean, and Zhanna had left to get the car. "I'll have to leave some food for Jo." I speak, mostly to myself.

"Who's Jo?" Castiel asks.

I shake my head. "Just a coyote who visits me sometimes."

Castiel grunts and we fall into an uncomfortable silence. I wonder what he's thinking and briefly wonder if I should read his mind. He turns and gives me a cold stare. "Don't you dare." He hisses.

I apologize before realization dawns on me. "Hey! I didn't give you permission to read my mind!"

Castiel says nothing and I glare at him. I hear the hum of a car engine not far away and huff. A black impala roars into view and I wince as it drives over the flowers. As the car stops, I jump up and teleport by its hood. I run a hand over it and smile. "Nice car." I compliment as its passengers step out.

"Thanks." Dean says gruffly.

"Why am I riding in the car again?" I ask.

"That way you can't use your angel mojo to poof somewhere else." Dean says.

I roll my eyes. "It's called teleportation. And I won't poof away, I promise." I say.

"Can't take any chances." Sam says.

With a sigh, I teleport into the back seats. I wiggle around on the leather seats as Zhanna speaks with Dean and Sam. Cas looks at me, making sure I don't run I guess. After a few minutes of speaking, Cas teleports next to me and Zhanna makes her way over and sits on my opposite side. Sam is riding shotgun and Dean is driving.

"Where are we going?" I query.

"You'll find out when we get there." Dean says.

I roll my eyes but settle in anyways, tilting my head to stare out the window as the engine revs and Dean drives off. Staring out the window I remember my church and snap my fingers. They all snap their eyes toward me and I shrug.

"Don't need the church anymore." I say.
