At 8:50, everyone except for Michael was standing outside the Captains office. They were all dressed in an official FBI uniform, with their badges and weapons on them.
"Where is this guy? He better be here he's got like ten minuted left!" said Jammer, looking at his watch anxiously.
Just then Michael walked by to where they were standing. He didn't look happy, but he still presented himself very well. He said his hair done nice, and was rocking the FBI uniform he was wearing. Even Jessica couldn't help but stare at him.
"Dude, where were you?" asked Jammer.
"Captain said 9 and its 8:50, so I think I'm good." He glanced around at everyone, but stopped when he saw Jessica. "And I'm gonna miss her the most," thought Michael. But he snapped out of it quickly and asked "How is everyone?"
"Ok, given the circumstances," answered Johnny.
"Jessica, how about you?" he asked as he moved closer to her.
"I'm fine, thanks," she answered, looking at her feet.
Just then, their Captain opened his door and glanced at his agents. "Please, come in," he said, opening the door wider so they all could come in.
They all lined up into this big room. In front there were about seven men sitting at a round table. They looked like they were very important people, people you didn't want to disappoint. They were also a bit intimidating to the agents. They all lined up in front of the desk, and their Captain sat next to the guy in the middle seat. He then stood up, and began to speak to the agents.
"Thank you agents to coming this morning. I'm Steven Jewels, I'm one of the head directors here a the FBI. These people sitting next to me are some of my colleagues here. Today were are here to turn in your badges and weapons, and then send you on your way, just making it official. Any questions?"
"Yea I got one, how about you tell us the real reason we're getting fired?" said Johnny.
Mr.Jewels looked over at his colleagues. "Because we can't afford to fund your task force team anymore. I'm sure your captain explained that to you Agent James."
"Yes...he did," answered Johnny.
"What's gonna happen to us after this?" asked Geek.
"You will find new jobs. We will be completely at your service, and we also wrote great letters of recommendation for you guys," said Mr.Jewels.
"Oh, like that's gonna help," mumbled Michael under his breath.
"So he speaks," said Captain, "do you wish to add something Agent Lynch?".
Once again, Michael didn't say anything. This time, though, he felt as though he should. What more can they do? he thought. I'm already out of a job. But then again, I don't want to look like a total jerk. In front of everyone...in front of Jessica...
"Michael," said Jessica.
He turned towards her beautiful face and locked eyes with her. He finally made up his mind.
"You guys better know what the hell you're doing," he began, "There's more to this than money or anything, so cut the crap! This is crazy! Putting us all out of a job after one year! There has to be more going on!"
This was becoming really heated. Michael's tone rose and he was looking and shouting at all the men at the table.
"You guys don't have the balls to tell us..."
Their Captain slammed on the desk "That is enough agent!"
Everyone went quiet. Even Michael. Then Captain walked around and stood right in front of Michael. They stood really close and they were both fuming with anger. Both of them looked like they were waiting for the other to throw the first punch.
"You've said enough Michael. I like you, you're one of my best agents. You just need to learn to hold your tongue, is that understood?" he told Michael in a hard whisper.
"Yes, sir," he answered.
"Does anyone else have anything to add?" asked Captain, looking at the other agents.
Nobody said anything, and with that, they proceeded. They began by ripping their ID tags off their suits. They asked for their badges, and when the agents presented them, they were snatched from their hands. Finally, the agents were to give up their guns. They removed their guns from the holsters and gave it to each of the men. This was the hardest item to give, since they had become attached to having a gun on them. Once they were done, they were each handed a letter of recommendation.
Then the Captain came by and began shaking hands with each of them. When he was done he stood back and looked at them, like he was examining a work of art.
"I have a fine team, I always will, no matter what happens," he stated. "I'm very proud of all of you. You know that. And I'm really going to miss you all. So, if there's nothing else, you may leave. Goodbye agents," he ended.
"Goodbye captain," they all said.
Once they exited, they all stood around, looking at each other.
"So, I guess this is it then," said Geek.
"No, it's not. It's only the beginning," said Johnny.
"Look guys, I'm sorry about how I acted. It was no way for me to behave, especially me being your leader," said Michael.
"Hey man it's fine. You were pissed and had every right to. You were just the only one who acted out what we were all feeling," said Jammer.
"Yea, don't worry about it," said Maria.
Michael began looking at his team, the same way their Captain was looking at them.
"What's wrong" asked Jessica.
"Nothing, just agreeing with what Captain said. That we have a good team. And I'm proud that I was able to be a part of this team. I mean, c'mon, I love you guys," eh smiled. Some more than other though, he thought.
"Aw how sweet!" said Johnny, going in for a big bear hug.
"Hey I have an idea! How about we all go out tonight and eat at that new restaurant that opened up. What do you guys say?" asked Johnny.
"It'll be good to spend one last night together so I'm in," said Geek.
"I'm in," said Jammer.
"Me too," said Maria.
"You know me and Jessica are in," said Johnny.
Jessica locked eyes with Michael, "I'm in."
"Then it's settled! We'll meet at the restaurant at around 7:30 ish ok" said Johnny.
"Sounds good! See everyone then!" said Michael.
And with that they all left and went home to get ready for their final night together.
