YEAR ONE- Chapter One
It was noon when I got my letter. It was written to Adrianna Thomas.
Flipping it over, I see a crest, with a snake, bird, lion, and badger. I know what this is. My Hogwarts letter!
"Dad! Dad! It came! My Hogwarts letter is here!"
He grins. "My little witch, about to go to Hogwarts! What house do you think you'll get, darling?"
"I want either Gryffindor, to continue our legacy, or Ravenclaw. Not Slytherin." I crinkle my nose. Slytherin was where the Dark wizards were made.
"Not all Slytherins are bad, Adrianna." He chides me.
Sighing, I agree. "I know. But most are. Anyway, we need to send our owl back by the first. And I need to go shopping."
Dad chuckles at my excitement. "Calm down, my little half-blood. We still have a whole month! I'll tell you what, I'll tell you some stories about our family tree while shopping. With a Butterbeer." He smiles at my eager expression. "If you wait a few days."
I groan playfully. "Oh, alright. But make it two Butterbeers."
"It's a deal."
"Oh, I'm so excited! I'm going to get a pet, my own wand, and a cauldron!" I grinned.
I could hardly sleep, I was so excited. Tomorrow made me a true witch, even though I'm a half-blood. Attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has always seemed like a dream to me, and in one month, I'll be a student!
I awoke with the dawn, ready to go to Diagon Alley. I dressed in navy robes- I'd be getting fitted for black ones today!!!!- and ran into Dad's room. "Dad! Dad! Get up! It's Diagon Alley time!"
He groaned tiredly and rubbed his eyes. "Adrianna, it's six in the morning!"
"I know! But you don't turn eleven and go to Hogwarts every day!"
"I suppose you have a point there." He rolled over and got out of bed.
I flew- quite literally, I stole Daddy's broom- downstairs and grabbed the milk and cereal. Because my mother is a Muggle, and everything about my family has to do with our magic, we agreed to live in a Muggle house, in a Muggle community, and dress and act like regular Muggles. But today, I could dress like a proper witch.
I ate quickly and made Daddy eat as fast as he could. Once he finished, we ran off into the direction of Diagon Alley.
Even though I've been here countless times, Diagon Alley never ceases to amaze me. So many different shops and colors!
As promised, our first stop was The Leaky Cauldron, so I could get myself a Butterbeer.
As I was handed my Butterbeer, I notice some commotion to the side of me. I sit down, and take a good look. What I saw almost made me drop my drink.
It was Harry Potter.
I was in the same room with the boy that beat Lord Voldemort.
"Harry!" I shout with the rest of the crowd. He looked at me- at me!!- and smiled.
I think I just died of happiness.
