The Big Book of Dragons

This is the Big Book of Dragons! The very book you need if you want to know all the dragons to know of! Madouc and Secrets try to write about as many dragons as they possibly can, giving their names, their habits and behaviour, their environment; etcetera. All the dragons maybe from games, films, books or other forms of media, but these dragons certainly exist! But perhaps if you have made and drawn your own dragon, then tell us about it and it shall become part of our guide!

20. 19 - The Gore Magala

The Gore Magala
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

From head to tail tip, about 17 metres. Height can be 5 metres high at most. The wing span is again, 17 metres.

A dragon, what I and many other dragon experts can only call pure evil. Not only that, we haven't the foggiest idea of what type of dragon it maybe. It walks like a quadrupedal wyvern like the Nargacuga, but yet it has six limbs, two of which are winged; furthermore they too are clawed, even to be believed to have opposable thumbs on them! It can use those winged limbs as a third pair of legs if it so wishes, meaning this dragon is unlike any we have ever seen. The wings too are strange and mysterious. They are coated in jet-black fur and resemble a ragged and tattered cape, black flowing off of them. Its horns glow a dark and rich purple at the tips, and only extend upward when the creature is startled and enraged. And this dragon is easily aggravated, I can tell you that.

The monster keeps getting more peculiar as we study it further, by that it has no normal elements at its disposal, like fire, wind or ice. Instead it possess a fiendish and unique ability known as the Frenzy Virus, that effects humans and animals alike. To come in contact with the virus, a being must touch the fur on the Magala's wings; which in turn it can burst out like pollen. That or via its breath attacks. Once infected, natural recovery rate will dampen dramatically, meaning your fatigue as you fight the beast will last a vast amount more of time. Also wounds will heal much slower. Stage two is that it causes the infected to become agitated and more ferocious toward anything they lay eyes on. Worse still, all those who come in contact with the virus can spread it through any form of contact.

How to kill:
Now the Frenzy Virus is what will be your downfall when facing this beast. However, I and some fellow dracologists (dragon scientists) have found a cure that is not certain to work but it beats having nothing. The cure is a mix of mountain herbs and a berry only known as a Nulberry. Unfortunately, it will only delay the effects for the body to recover naturally. Research is still under development, with a lot of success so far but a final cure is not yet reached. Other than that, attack the beast as per usual; it's armour is feeble.

The reason being I wanted to find a cure for Frenzy Virus is because I've come into contact with the Frenzy before when I tried to kill one of these dragons myself and it's a horrible, horrible virus. It's... it's unnerving once in contact with it. You feel so drained, never recovering from fatigue of swinging your sword, dodging and running. So for this, I have a personal hatred for the Gore Magala, and I would very much like to see this creature to become extinct.

Ended. Gone. Eradicated.
