Arabella's POV

I sighed, getting up from my bed and making my way over to my bathroom to take a shower.

It's been a few days since I had last seen Ashton. For some reason he avoids me, he's even been taking the bus instead of driving with me.

And sadly, it's taking a toll on me. As long as we've been friends, well before Olivia, this has never happened. He's basically my only friend and now I have no one to speak to, unless you count Harley. She's been following me around for a while now and I have to admit she's cool, but she can be annoying at times. She's like a girl version of Ashton.

I stepped out of the shower and dried off, wrapping my towel around my body and making my way back into my bedroom to get dressed.

I quickly threw on a large, almost oversized, sweater that was creme and black colored. Some ripped jeans that were cuffed at the ankles and some all black converse.

I blow dried my short hair and put on a beanie that hung low on my head, along with my glasses that I rarely ever wear, but I'm only going a few places today.

I grabbed my purse and walked down the old, wooden, stairs of my house and out the front door not bothering to say goodbye to my father.

I made my way into the small, local, library and smiled a bit to myself, as I felt the warmth of the small area.

I walked to the back of the library, hoping to find the book I have fallen in love with.

Turning the corner, I spotted two familiar heads of brown and blonde hair.

I turned around and tried to get out of sight but failed as I tripped over my own feet and knocked down a pile of books.

"Bella?" I heard Luke said and I squeezed my eyes shut, getting up from the floor.

I slowly faced the two boys and gave them a awkward smile.

"Hey, guys" I muttered and watched as Ashton bit his lip as if he was refraining from saying something.

"Wow, you look different. What happened to the long brown locks and dark make-up. And since when do you wear glasses?" Luke questioned and I just shrugged.

"I just needed a change. And I wear glasses all the time, I guess you just never payed enough attention to notice." I said, my voice sounding harsher than planned.

I watched as Luke frowned and his eyebrows furrow. And I knew he was about to try and prove me wrong.

"I did pay attention. You were just never around" He retorted and I rolled my eyes.

"I was never around because I was sorting out things with my parents" I snapped and he shook his head. "Why are we even talking about this?" I asked and he sighed.

"Because you always bring it up when we see each other and I feel as if you think I don't care. I do care and I always have" He said, hurt laced in his voice and I softened a bit. Luke always had that affect on me.

"I'm sorry Luke. As much as I tried, to be more than friends with you, I couldn't with my parents divorce and all. I guess I didn't want to feel guilty so I blamed you. I'm sorry" I apologized and he came me a small, but real, smile and I did the same.

"I just wish we could of work through it" He muttered and I don't think he wanted me to hear. So I ignored his comment.

I realized Ashton was still standing there, looking awkward as hell and I sighed, this moment would have to come sooner or later.

"What's up Ashton?" I greeted, trying to start a conversation and get my mind away from the previous one before I start crying.

He shrugged his shoulders and looked away as if I wasn't worth his time. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked over to Luke who shrugged, indicating he knew nothing.

"He's been like this all day" Luke whispered into my ear, although I'm pretty sure Ashton heard. Luke was never the best at whispering.

"Ashton can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked and he nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets and following me to a random corner for us to talk.

"What do you wanna talk about?" He mumbled and I sighed, bending dm down and sitting on the floor, he did the same and rested his hands in his lap.

"you" I stated simply and he turned to me, shocked, before recovering.

"why do you wan-" He began to ask before I rudely cut him off, not wanting the question to be on my mind much longer.

"Have you been seeing Olivia again?" I asked and his eyes went wide, shaking his head frantically.

"I would never" He mumbled and I sighed.

"Then why have you been avoiding me?" I questioned. Although I thought Ashton was annoying, he was a good friend and has been for three years.

"I haven't been avoiding you-"

"Yes you have. You even took the bus instead of riding with me. You hate the bus!" I exclaimed and he chuckled a bit.

"It's nothing. It's just my parents . . ."

He trailed off, looking off, in deep thought.

"Parents? As in both?" I questioned and he nodded. I knew this couldn't be good.

"W-what's happening?" I asked, hoping it was nothing too serious.

"How about we go out tonight" He suddenly asked, avoiding my question and I sighed.

"Yea, that seems cool. What time" I asked and he shrugged.

"Eight" He said and started to get up, I did the same and crossed my arms over my chest.

"You still have to tell me what's going on" I stated and he nodded, starting to walk away but not before he turned back around.

"By the way, I love the glasses. They look hot on you, kinda like a sexy librarian" He teased and I felt my cheeks redden as I turned my head, once again searching for my favorite book.

I readjusted the top of my shirt and waited up in my room for Ashton to arrive as the time dragged on.

I heard the doorbell finally ring and I jumped up from my bed and bolted down the stairs, hoping my father didn't answer the door.

"Ah, hello Ashton. It's nice to see you here" I heard my fathers voice and I groaned. This is not what I had hoped for.

"There you are Arabella. Do you mind telling me where your headed?" My father questioned but his tone had a hint of seriousness as he rose an eyebrow in suspicion.

"Ashton invited me out tonight and I don't know exactly where were going. I think it was just one of his friends parties?" I lied. Earlier Ashton had told me we were going to the races and and if my father knew, I would be dead.

Ashton quickly agreed, soon catching on to why I had been lying.

My father seemed to have his doubts but let Ashton and I go only moments later.

"You can stay out late just make sure you stay with this fine gentlemen here" My father said with a chuckle and I rolled my eyes, not catching on to his humor.

"Sure thing, Mr. Banks" Ashton smiled and turned around, leading me to his car. "What happened to the glasses?" He asked me once he started the car and I chuckled.

"I only wear them when I go to the library or to the grocery store. There reading glasses, I'm not blind without them" I said and he pouted.

"That doesn't mean you can't wear them. Like I said earlier, you look hot in them" He said and I furrowed my eyebrows in disgust while shaking my head.

I quickly dropped the subject once I asked him if I was hot without the glasses and he said 'yes' along with a 'i'd fuck you' which I don't think I was meant to hear.

"We're here" Ashton announced as we pulled up onto the dirt 'parking lot' that was really just an empty lot in the middle of no where.

We exited the car and walked over to the edge of the large lot, where many other people where getting ready for the motorcycle races to start, which, might I add, was indeed illegal.

I sighed once I realized a whole bunch of my so called friends and enemies would be here and I wasn't looking forward to seeing either.

"Holy shit" I heard Ashton mutter and I furrowed my eyebrows, turning around to see Olivia and a boy, she was desperately clinging onto like a price of tape.

And once I took a closer look at who she was attached to I nearly fainted.
