5. Sibling Pain

They say that the truth is in the eyes,
Is this just one of the lies,

People ask and always believe,
Sadness comes followed by the ask to leave,

She is hanging on by a thread,
Her eyes are puffy and stained in red,

Clenching her sleeves she blinks away,
They tell her to leave the tears for another day,

Bit by bit he is withering in the past
His own little sister is fading at last,

Shouting below reaching their ears,
She covers her head, she smothers her tears,

The thundering smash of another plate,
Slowly the tears are breaking her gate,

He wraps his arms only to be pushed away,
How can he tell her, everything will be okay,

In the night she reaches for her mother,
Its pointless she says to be a bother,

Packed cases and slammed doors,
He watches her curl up on the floor,

Ripped away from a family undone,
She keeps on thinking what she did wrong,

They try to tell her, shes not to blame,
Yet all she feels is the shame,

Then he knew it would never be the same,
He watched and saw his sisters pain.
