Behind The Mask

A collection of poetry about mental illnesses, bullying and abuse. Warning: this book contains some things about rape, self-harm, drug use, eating disorders and abuse.

4. Bully

Tongues of spite,
No more will to fight,

He looks at his shoes to blur the tears,
Being weak is one of his fears,

Clenched fists against a cheek,
Shouting out that he isn't a freak,

No one knows what's taking a toll,
All his anger is out of control,

A drink down his throat,
He points and gloats,

Everyone joins in his laughing tune,
Yet the fun will fade all too soon,

He keeps on fighting and making sin,
If he keeps it up, no one will win,

Sick and tired of the things he takes,
Acting as if it will get better if he keeps on the fake,

People point of how he is the bad guy,
But not once did anyone ask him why,

Under the surface he is just like you and me,
In a pain that no one can see.
