4. The Arrival
As I get closer to the stairs to get off the bus I began to hear yelling coming from outside, I noticed it was a male’s voice. I looked at everyone else their facial expressions looked as if they had already been scolded. It suddenly went quiet and I turned to see my brother glaring at me. “What’s your name mutt?!” he demanded the tone in his voice reminded me of all the times he was upset with me. His bark still sending shivers down my back. I took one final look at him before walking around him to stand next to Tucker who was standing next to his brother. When I glanced back at my brother he had continued to the dog behind me. He noticed me and his expression changed into a bright smile “Hey, um…What did you say your name was again?” I looked at him “Seraphina, my name is Seraphina.” His eyes softened “I like that name it-“ he was cut off by Arlo nudging him in the shoulder with his paw and shaking his head. “Uh, right.” He looked at the ground almost ashamed of what he was about to say. “Uh thanks.” I looked toward my brother who was starting to raise his voice at a different dog. “I’ll talk to you later, alright.” I looked back at Tucker who was still looking to the ground “Um, yeah…ok.” He said not making eye contact. I walked over toward a tree nearest to where everyone is and sat under it. It’s shade cooling my fur. I close my eyes savoring the moment to be alone. “Hey!” I opened my eyes and turned to the voice only to see a black male standing next to me, smiling at me. “Um, yes?” I stood taking a few steps back. He looked behind him towards the golden male who now sat next to Tucker, then back at me. “What’s a pretty wolf like you sitting over here all alone for?” ”Just some alone time.” I looked back at my brother who was still scolding the same dog. He chuckled stepping into my path of view. “A pretty wolf such as yourself shouldn’t be alone.” He sat where he stood, still in my path of view. “And why is that?” I sat down looking at the muscular male, he chuckled. “It’s very dangerous, some wolf might try to take advantage of you.” I flicked my tail “What are you getting at?” I frowned at him standing up “Like I said before.” He stood up not breaking eye contact. “Some wolf could take advantage of you.” He started to circle me “Like the male you sat with on the bus, and the way he looked at you.” He chuckled “I surely think he wants something more than you think.” He stopped right in front of me looking at my brother “Or is it him?” He started to walk back toward the group. I noticed the golden male from before walking toward me only to be shoved by the black male.
