5. The unsent letter
I went to his house a few days later. The home I knew so well was just so much... Darker. I ringed the door bell and his mother answered. "Hi Ms. Black. Is Resse here by any chance?" She hagan to shake. "Oh no Arianna. He moved out." I stared at her, shocked. Resse loved this house. "Where? Might I ask." I asked sadly. "Oh! He... Umm.... Didn't tell me." She lied. I could tell she was. The sun was setting. "You can come in..." She said, her head down.
Resse's room was different, which upset me. All of our photos he kept on the memory board, were drawn on. His face crossed out in all of them. I looked around again though I was on the verge of tears. Some thing caught my eye. His old tool box, which was lock as always, sat on his dresser. I knew where the key was. I craved to know what was hidden in there, calling me to it. So I grabbed the key out from under the welcome mat and un locked it . This is what was inside:
I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I just don't want you to carry the burden. Please forgive me. I just wanted to get this off my back, even of you don't see it. I am just doing this to protect you. I'm not going to write what happened to me. I can't tell you. But if you can guess... Never mind. Just know... No matter what I say I don't mean it. I'm just saying it to protect you.
I broke down and ran out of that house, leaving the letter open, on his desk, covered in tears.
Authors note: you know what to do, so do it! Peace!
